ok folks, it is now Valentine's day across the US.

Give it up.

What are you up to? Are you intending to be "surprising" or among the "surprised?"

My darling wife left me a “heart trail” to follow this AM.

Today, I have the opportunity to thank two of the heroes in my life who one year ago pulled my lifelong valentine, my husband, from a burning car fifteen seconds before it burst into flames. And then they got him to the ground and put out the flames that were eating his clothing up. Even for this gabby grandmother, there are not enough letters in the alphabet to express my heartfelt gratitude. My thank you today will carry an immeasurable weight. May God bless them a thousand times over!

Bought my wife a new fishing pole yesterday and said: Happy Valentines, love you. Am I a romantic or what ;-)

No cards, no candy, no stuffed animals, no pajama grams or Vermont teddies.. We went out for a nice dinner last night and I’ll make her a nice breakfast this morning.

I’ll go first.

I sent (shipped) my sweetie pounds and pounds of homemade cookies; he is lactose intolerant, so that is a treat for him. The box included a couple of popcorn “movie watching” kits, and..............a signed copy of Liberty and Tyranny by Mark Levin! heh

He’s a reformed lib and I figured he would like it. And he did!

He sent (shipped) to me: a dozen long stemmed red roses, girly lavender bath stuff, a teddy bear, and a box of chocolates. And a mushy card. LOL

However, keep this in mind. He and I are 2000 miles apart. I’m in St. George, UT and he is in Chicago.

If you and your valentine are in the same town, the same house, or the same bed, your present is better than mine. In that case, YOU WIN.

No flowers or candy here, either. I don’t want him wasting the money. Instead, he suggested a prime rib dinner at home, and a quiet evening watching a movie. Oh, and I have to get crackin’, cause I’m making him breakfast!

I woke up to soft kisses all over my face with an occassional slip of tongue.

I opened my eyes to look into the face of THE DOG!

Thank God for Listerine.

We (the humans)celebrated Valentines Day Friday.

Pretending the family cat can send cards, after signing them with gushy love messages, like “me love you - now feed me, and clean my litter box!”, or “me love you - now rub my ears and be my scratching post!”...

Had I not done that several years ago, I wouldn’t be getting those things on my “list.”

Chin up, cupcake. There’s a whole other world out there. :)

Lets see, I was asked if I could do barn duty. Meaning feeding & cleaning 9 horse stalls. Thankfully my knee is in a brace or that is where I would be. My 2 horses are my Valentine's. To keep them in this economy we gave up all presents & going out to dinners. But they are so worth it!

You do, in fact.

A widow lives behind me, I have a Valentine for her that will have to “do” until she goes home to her husband in a few months.

Go to a Veteran’s hospital or a local nursing home, gifts in hand, dressed in your Sunday best. Turn on the charm.

The place will be swarming with nurses. :)

I’d love for my sweetie to make me breakfast this morning. She’s a lucky gal, indeed.

Of course, there is little that would thrill my sweetie more than me making him “a scramble” as he calls it. He’s a guy and he likes to eat. LOL
