My Dad was stationed there during the 2nd World War; my son worked there as a UXO tech from 2004-2006, and is working there now.

Been by the Schofield Barracks. I would hate to be stationed there and getting run through the paces.

For paradise that would be hell. The mud, the humidity...

When I was in the 5th RCT in Korea in 52, we were attached for a while to the 25th.

When I came home I wore the Tropic Lightning patch, it looks better than the 5th RCT patch.

I was shocked to see an old WWI picture of Marines wearing the Army 2nd Division patch, they were attached to the Army 2nd ID.

My husband's grandfather was stationed at Scofield Barracks in 1927. On the way back from an outing for a baseball game, he was thrown from the cab of a door less truck, struck a tree and died instantly.
