Most people do not know the tenets of socialism. They think it ‘sounds’ good.

I’m from an older generation. To me socialism means nothing but bad. An insult would be to call someone a communist.

But, we conservatives were outplayed. The socialists aren’t always stupid, and are very persistent and patient. The socialists took over the public schools, while most of us fled to private schools or home schooling. The result is that we know have 2+ generations of mush heads. These mush heads think socialism is a great thing, and have no ability to think critically. That explains the acceptance of global warming, and the accompanying idiocy, such as: “Global Warming is causing it to be cold and snow more.”
