Politics: A battle ensues between one vice president who defended freedom well and another who sorely needs his boss's teleprompter. Biden accuses Cheney of rewriting history while claiming that Iraq is this administration's victory.
Maybe Vice President Joe Biden should think about writing talking points on his hand as his rhetoric reaches levels of absurdity where no politician has gone before. After last weekend's round of competitive gabfests, one would expect to see a billboard of former Vice President Dick Cheney with a caption, "Miss me yet?" We do, sir, we do.
After yeoman service helping President Bush fight the war on terror, Cheney has refused to let others make the history of those times a lie agreed upon. Vice President Biden has been designated the attack dog of this administration and in a carefully orchestrated set of appearances sought to blunt Cheney's observation that in the war on terror our current emperors are wearing no clothes.
Appearing first on NBC's "Meet the Press," Biden said the Iraq War hadn't been worth its "horrible price" in blood, treasure and other nations' support. Of Cheney, he said, "He is either misinformed or misinforming."
Yet Biden, as Cheney pointed out Sunday on ABC, opposed both the war and the surge he recently took credit for on "Larry King Live." "I am very optimistic about Iraq," Biden told the CNN host. "I mean, this could be one of the great achievements of this administration." Come again? This administration?

Biden vs Cheney? Limp noodle vs a gun ....
Biden? Cheney? Who can really tell the difference?
That’s easy. Biden is the one with head up his a$$.
I mean seriously..."Slow" Joe Biden vs "I shot my best friend in the face..what do you think I am gonna do to you?" Dick Cheney?
I have one prediction for this fight..
Biden isn’t even in the same caliber as Cheney. It’s embarassing.
It’s unfair when Cheney has a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent.
I’d like to see Biden setting between Cheney and Brown, answering law questions on the military. LOL
I’d take Cheney covering my back before 0bama, or Biden.
Now who is rewriting history?
There is one silver lining hear which Larry King failed to pursue in the interview.
If OBAMA and BIDEN can now take credit for Iraq, does that mean we won? If we won, does that mean the United States achieved a victory?
It is so typical of the Democrats to take credit for something they had nothing to do with while still denying a victory for the ones that did.
He went from college to law school to the U.S. Senate without ever having to actually work for a living in the private sector to earn his keep.
Dick Cheney ran at least one major corporation and produced record earnings which the DEMOCRATS like BIDEN love to tax.
BIDEN is even less useful than JESSE VENTURA and that is going some.
An excellent analysis. NVA is a huge problem and you've nailed a great way to discuss it.
I think Biden was a prosecutor before going in the legislature. Cheney was a lifelong politician who was appointed as CEO of Haliburton as a retirement job, near the end of his career. When he was chosen to head the committee to choose a VP for W, he chose himelf.
I’m not pro-Biden, or even anti-Cheney, but they are both life long pols.
Your points are well taken. But BIDEN never worked a day in his life outside of the government. And he was such as joke and blowhard in the U.S. Senate, no private enterprise assignment would ever come his way.
You don't see Bush or Cheney taking credit for the success in IRAQ. Only an NVA Jackass like BIDEN would do so without mentioning the Troops.
