Report: DSCC Trying to Get Blanche Lincoln (D-AR) to Retire
Via email from a friend

Posted on 02/19/2010 4:25:21 PM PST by kcvl

A well-known Washington insider has been telling Arkies this weekend that the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee is trying to talk Sen. Blanche Lincoln out of running for re-election.

That would open the door for a Wes Clark candidacy. And U.S. Rep. Mike Ross would be in the race in a heartbeat

This kind of thing is going to blow up in their faces. A lot of these career democrats aren’t going to take this crap coming from some punk ass half term senator lucky enough to lie his way into the white house.

ABC White House correspondent Jake Tapper took a break from asking the President questions to ask (Tim) Griffin on twitter “you gonna run against Ross?” Griffin replied several minutes later “There’s a lot of unhappy folks in the 4th District. I hear from them.”

Tim Griffin, was a United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas from December 2006 to June 2007, appointed by Attorney General Alberto Gonzales. Griffin now runs his own businesses in Little Rock, Arkansas.

If I was Blanche I would not fly in small airplanes or ride in the back seat of a Lincoln convertible

My personal favorite was Rush Limbaugh referring to Wesley Clark as “The Mad Bomber of Kosovo”. First time I heard that I couldn’t stop laughing, but it was soooooo true.

Ya know if this is true, then, then, then the Democrat Admin (Pelosi, Reid, etc.) Used a member in the worst way.

They bribed her, used her, and now the HC bill is judged as a career Killer Bill.

Sympathy vote possible ?.....if she makes a mid course correction for fooling the Tea Partiers ? Before the dems replace her ASAP ? interlesting...

What makes them think that they would be any stronger candidates? If Ross would run we would pick up his seat and take all 4 Arkansas house seats.

LOL. First they destroy her career by urging her to vote against her constituency (and we all know the heavy guns they brought against her) and now they tell her they screwed up so badly she has to retire.

She’s got to be pretty teed off.

How old is that info from Tapper? Isn’t Tim Griffin already running in the AR-02 (the seat from which Vic Snyder is retiring)?

Yeah he is.

As for the Senate seat unless they coax Governor Beebe in the race they won’t be helped much by a new candidate. The liberal LT Governor Bill Halter could do worse than Lincoln.

Yes. Marc Rosson. A rancher who ran for the state house in the past.

http://www.marcrosson.com/

Only that one guy from what I can tell.

In 2008 Ross faced only a green party candidate.

Ross appears to have been moving to the left the last couple congresses. A strong challenger might have a chance. Doesn’t look like this race has been targeted.

Unfortunately, they did it to Dodd and Blumenthal now looks very likely to keep the seat for Democrats. Dodd was an exceptional case though. Democrats here turned on him. I do believe they will try to keep the brand by ditching the sickly candidates however. As you say, however, I can’t see everyone rolling over and dying for the cause and because the leadership tells them to.

Well, he’s a working class guy who grew up poor. If he’s honest, and stays honest, he can’t be any worse than the idiot goobers up there now. Plus,no one is likely to put over any of that Wall Street crap on him. Right now your average republican has his nose so far up Wall Street’s . . .

Oh, you get the picture.

parsy, whose nose is clean

The fundraising letter that I saw from Ross said he was being targeted by those ‘evil’ Republicans.

Anyone would say that in a fund raising letter. If he said he’s pretty sure he’ll win easily nobody would donate.

Hopefully our guy has a chance.
