Joe Kennedy takes a pass, Democrats take a hit
The Lowell Sun ^ | 2/19/2010 | Peter Lucas

U.S. Rep. Patrick Kennedy's decision to leave Congress makes it clearer than ever that Joe Kennedy made the wrong decision when he decided not to run for the U.S. Senate.

With the Rhode Island Kennedy's announcement that he will not seek re-election, there will be no Kennedy in Congress for the first time since 1946, when the late John F. Kennedy was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives.

Kennedy family critics -- and Republicans -- may rejoice at the idea that there will now be a Kennedy-free Congress. But the fact is that whatever one thought of the late Edward M. "Ted" Kennedy, he had an amazing ability to consistently bring home to Massachusetts billions of dollars in federal funds

Joe Kennedy, just following in the foot steps of his bootlegging grandfather Joseph P. Kennedy. Negotiating with Hugo Chavez and profiteering on the elderly.

The genuine test of liberal success. The ability to steal from your fellow citizen to take for yourself.

They make it sound as if having no Kennedy in government is a bad thing. Silly rabbits.

No Kennedly = higher average IQ, morality in politics.

Women are safer, too.

The Kennedy name is properly associated with the Obama name and the name for excrement. Smells the same, too.

“U.S. Rep. Patrick Kennedy’s decision to leave Congress makes it clearer than ever that Joe Kennedy made the wrong decision when he decided not to run for the U.S. Senate. “

What, we HAVE to have a Kennedy in congress? For what?

I constantly wonder at stories regarding the lack of a Kennedy in Congress. How is it that people from Massachusetts are so uninformed as to think that only a Kennedy can serve them in Congress.

Joe Kennedy is paid $500,000 per year as an Officer of Citizens Energy a company that distributes low cost heating oil to people.

Want to know where they get the heating oil from? Yup, Hugo Chavez.

So how would Joe Kennedy win a race when for years he has been drawing a fat salary for doing NOTHING while his employer that pays him $500,000 per year gets free oil from Hugo Chavez and turns around and sells it to low income people?

Thank the Lord, God Almighty. And let's pray it stays this way.

Nothing good EVER came out from the Kennedy family. Their being gone from Congress is truly a blessing.

Anyone in the USA who takes oil from Hugo Chavez ought to at least be cut off from any other forms of welfare, at the very least.

Missed his chance...he could have run for POTUS with that kind of résumé.

A couple of years ago, that is.
