I’m more comfortable when Obama’s Strongly disapprove number is at or above 43%. When it sinks to 40 I worry that he’s beginning to reestablish traction.

I was pretty exited when I looked too!!! Yesterday he was at -11. I couldn’t figure out why, but it looks like the poll self-corrected! WHEW!!!!

Wow. From -11 to -17 in one day. And remember, Rasmussen is actually giving us a THREE DAY AVERAGE. How in the heck can you move 6 points with a three day average? He would have to be polling overnight in at least the middle -20’s.

Is the 23% "Strongly Approve" the lowest on record?

I'm a little disappointed that the "Strongly Disapprove" rarely gets above 43%... :0(

>> Big one-day swing <<

Yep, in order for the three-day rolling average of Strongly Approve fall to 23%, I figure last night’s “raw” number for the SA folks must have been down around 20% — obviously way out of range if the previous week’s numbers have any validity at all.

This result must simply be an artifact of the extremely small sample (300 likely voters) that Rasmussen samples every night. In other words, good ol’ “statistical noise.”

Me. Too is surprising to see that strongly disapprove fall back down to the 38-40% range since the SOTU. I thought it would creep back up. the SA number fell back down and even lower than pre-SOTU. I am guessing the lull in health care reform, slight uptick in unemployment and GDP numbers gave some people hope that we are not on a one way ticket to economic oblivion and fell from strongly disapprove to ‘disapprove’. I am hoping we see that number creep back up to 43% by November to ensure a big turnout.

Yeah, but 23% is the lowest that diehard number has been, unless I’m mistaken. We all know there’s a floor of diehard support, but it had always bounced off of 25 or 24 %, I think. So, the news here, it seems to me, is that the “market” may crashing through the previous floor to put in a new floor.

Perhaps.

Yeah - I was a bit freaked out yesterday also. I would like to see it get down to -20 and then stay there. Could probably not get much lower because of the True Believers in Obama, but at least the independents would have awakened.

FWIW, I was polled by Rasmussen yesterday. Mainly about Presidential approval, right direction, wrong direction, etc.

It is a computer generated survey, which I think is less biased than a person asking the questions. Have others also been polled by Mr. R?

Overall, 45% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance. Fifty-three percent (53%) disapprove.”

That is pretty much in line with this CNN poll:
CNN poll: 52% say Obama doesn't deserve reelection in 2012
52 percent of Americans said President Barack Obama doesn't deserve reelection in 2012, according to a new poll.

44 percent of all Americans said they would vote to reelect the president in two and a half years, less than the slight majority who said they would prefer to elect someone else.

Obama faces a 44-52 deficit among both all Americans and registered voters, according to a CNN/Opinion Research poll released Tuesday. Four percent had no opinion.”

Cheney is right. 0bozo is going to be a one termer.
Without the idiot media shilling for the Narcissist in Chief 24/7, he'd be at 36-60 by now. Fortunately, Rush and the rest of Talk Radio, Beck etc are doing the heavy lifting in education voters about how really evil 0bama is.
