Depends on the viewpoint: those who don’t think homosexuality is good are being discriminated against by the bigoted homosexuals!

If Homosexuals have a right to their viewpoint, then heterosexuals have a right to their viewpoint.

I’m tired of these bigoted heterophobics giving grief to heterosexuals.

Heterophobics should stop trying to push their lifestyle down our throats.

"BIGOTRY" being defined as when we don't think the same way someone else does?

FREEDOM OF SPEECH is also FREEDOM OF OPINION, and expressing one's opinion is surely not a foreign concept to gay groups...they walk down the streets in parades, half-naked, fondling each other...but if we're offended by that, then we're "bigots". WTF?

It's amazing to me how the people who engage in such activity can use their chosen behavior to latch onto a concept normally reserved for descrimination in racial matters (not a choice) and then try to criminalize the opinions of people who find said behavior disgusting.

Insofar as who is right, and who is wrong...a quick study of the plumbing and anatomy of a human being SHOULD answer the question of "entrances" and "exits".

This is perfect. A liberal comment from that link that fully explains a liberal's view of the First Amendment:

Dear Miss Kristin Dowd, you are a bigot simply by being a woman and publicly holding a view against another minority, if you want to do it privately, by all means go ahead, but to campaign against others is prejudiced.

True, but we don't want to push men to marry women, only to continue to have sex with men on the down low. This is what we had before the gay rights movement.

I am no fan of the Gaystapo, but it is better to have them out of the closet than in the closet, ruining women's lives in the process. Its when they proselytize that I get annoyed.

I looked at both slideshows, andI find it interesting that these libs think the following things are “scary.”

Dick Armey sitting with a guy in a tricorner hat

A woman wearing stars and stripes spectacles

Jim DeMint smiling

A woman showing off books by Coulter, Palin and Beck (so scary she was in both sldeshows)

Two kids in sumo suits

Bumperstickers, including “No, thanks, I already have a Messiah.”

The tricorner hat guy holding up a teakettle

Marc Rubio speaking

Jim DeMint speaking

Someone playing a target range video game

Mitt Romney smiling

Liz Cheney speaking

Liz hugging her Dad

Mitt Romney and Scott Brown smiling

J.D. Hayworth

People praying for liberals

The Fairtax game (Yeah, but nearly a half century of extremist libs controlling the educational system is fine)

The Obama Zombies book cover

More book covers

Even more book covers (Remember the halcyon days of the Bush Administration, when dissent was the highest form of patriotism?)

Bumper stickers, including “Don’t steal, the government hates competition” and “George W. Obama.” (Remember the halcyon days of the...oh, skip it.)

More bumper stickers, including “IRS: I Represent Satan.” (Wow, that’s so much worse than a picture of Bush as the Devil or sharing a sign with Hitler...)

A guy portraying a Constitutional right as a...well, a Constitutional right.

Guys in “Government Gone Wild” T-Shirts.

So, to review. the things conservatives find scary:

Totalitarian government
Terrorism
Nuclear Iran
Fisting Education

The things liberals find scary:

People expressing ideas
People questioning authority
Funny costumes
Politicians smiling while meeting people who may support them for election

What a bunch of little wimps.

If you ever feel a need to keep the dispute secular -- and there really is no reason to -- just point out that the gay activists are talking about civil marriage and civil marriage has nothing to do with love. All civil marriage means is access to divorce courts which are over-crowded as is.

There is never a reason to bring a personal dispute between two men or two women to divorce court.

Civil marriage is also the purview of the legislature, and for them to declare discrimination because the legislature declared that civil marriage is allowed between 1 man and 1 woman is ludicrous.

No gay man or gay woman is prevented by law from civil marriage, they just are required that that marriage be to a person of the opposite gender. This is not discrimination, no rights have been violated.

I mean lets face it, their argument at the end of the day is not that they can't marry, but they can't marry who they wish... and guess what, if the legislature is now going to try to edict we are allowed and have a right to marry who we wish, have fun trying to deal with that nonsense.

I wish to be married to X, X wished to marry Y and Y wishes to marry Z, but law says we all have a right to marry who we wish.. so, lets all launch civil rights actions.

Its idiotic on its face.

I didn't compose that, so I'm only giving my take on it. When I saw this I took it to be a little 'in your face'. Kind of like 'we're here, and we're queer'.

I like the idea of a few of these in your face things being tossed out from our side.

It’s like catching a pedophile in the act, it murders witnesses. The gay agenda is worse than bigotry, it is a rapist’s agenda. Anything looking or mentioning innocence is like a threat to them.

And feminists say gay men are so nice while holywood brainwashes us with images of women ok with taking bubble baths with gay men...

If you ever feel a need to keep the dispute secular -- and there really is no reason to

To the contrary, I think it's essential to keep the dispute secular. Any religious argument may legitimately be disregarded by anyone who does not believe the religion in question.

From a secular standpoint, I think the best argument is probably that, with very few exceptions, every society that has ever existed and prospered, has recognized "marriages" with the following characteristics:

  1. A marriage defines a human female as being exclusively the wife of precisely one human male.
  2. Any man who has sexual relations with another man's wife commits a great personal offense against that man (except in the rare case where the man might allow it).
  3. Even societies with practically nothing in common will recognize each others' marriages; men will not knowingly engage in sexual relations with wives of other societies' men except when wishing to cause great offense.
Although many things about marriage have varied from one society or another, or from one century to another, the above characteristics have been constant essentially everywhere since time immemorial. Marriage predates religion and predates government. Even if the law were changed so a man-less or woman-less group could call itself a "marriage", that wouldn't make such a group be one.
