Keith Olbermann Slams Texas For Stupidity
mediaite.com ^ | Feb. 22, 2010 | Drew Grant

“A mind may be a terrible thing to waste, but if you waste 15 million of them, apparently you get Texas.”

That was Keith Olbermann tonight, doing his best to collectively piss off the biggest state in the contiguous U.S. after a recent poll showed that 60 percent of those polled in the cowboy state believe that humans and dinosaurs existed at the same time, or weren’t sure.

We’re not really sure what Olbermann’s goal here is except to rile up a bunch of people…he even admits that he wishes there was a political association he could pin this on, but then goes on to spout numbers of Democrats versus Republicans who go to church.

Which is a little misleading…there’s no data saying that everyone who answered “stupidly” (i.e. not believing in evolution, or unsure) had strong religious beliefs one way or another.

Oh yeh... Texas women are way beyond his league to go for the bespectacled geek in the box.

Thank you! :)

SpongeBob: Hey Patrick, guess what I am!
Patrick: Um, stupid?
SpongeBob: No, I'm Texas!
Patrick:What's the difference?

(I'm a Texan, but even I got a big laugh from that Spongebob episode)

Overdick aside, if true, 60% is pretty scary.

Naw.... we don’t pay too much attention to these kind of pricks. He is Nobamas lover girl.
That would be a sloppy a$$ to kick, if you know what I mean.

60%? Thats a little more than the proportion of voters who elected Obama. So no, I am not surprised.

I figured it was the flaming lib in him. I bet the head injury is just a minor part of his overall mental health condition...

Doesn’t drive because of a loss of depth perception caused by a head injury.

That might explain a lot of things besides depth perception.

Well ... in English "dinosaur" is commonly used to describe anything that is impractically large, slow-moving, obsolete, or bound for extinction. Like MSNBC.

So, in one sense, humans walked the earth at the same time "dinosaurs" did. Texans are smart.

Wish I was back in Texas,
The ocean’s no place for a squirrel,
Wish I was in Texas,
Prettiest place in the world, oh no.
I guess deep in my heart I’ll always be a Texas girl
I wanna go hommmme hooommmmmme hommme oh oh
Yoldle ay e oh, yodle ay e oh, yodle ay e oh, a lay-ee, a lay-ee.
I wanna wake up in Texas
I miss those wide open skies.
I miss my 20 acres, bar-b-ques,
And peacan pies, oh why?
When I’m so far from you, Texas, all I can do-o is cry.
I wanna go ho-oome,
Ho-oome, (a guy)I wanna go ho-ome!

"Just so you will know: If God had intended for Texans to ski, He would have made bull shite white and cold!"

har har! point noted.

i'm back in ohio, so i have lost all animosity towards texans, new mexicans, okkies, or californicators.

i just enjoy watching the grass grow, the paint dry, and the seeds turn into plants. ;)

And more people read about it on this thread than the actual number of Texans who tune in to his little cable access show. Party on Garth.

Glad that you are enjoying life up there in “yankee land”.

I’m a 7th generation Texan—born here, and plan to die here. We had to do some moving around when my husband would get transferred with his job, but he’s retired now, so we’re back home. (Actually, he’s an Okie—but he swears he got here as fast as he could—LOL!)
