Clinton says midterm elections won't be as bad ‘94

WASHINGTON — Former President Bill Clinton said Monday he doesn't expect Democratic prospects this year “to be as bad as ‘94,” when his failed drive to overhaul the nation's health care system helped Republicans win control of Congress.

In assessing what could be a potentially tough year for his party, Clinton said if Democrats catch a break with the economy and party leaders “kind of keep their heads on straight and keep focusing on the need to show up and get counted, I don't think it'll be as bad as ‘94. I think we'll do much better.”

I have trouble reading politicalspeak. Is he saying that the American people think Obama is less of a dirtbag than Clinton was?

I hope BillyBob’s correct. We want to get within a few seats of taking both chambers this November so we can stop Hussein in his tracks. But we don't want to give Hussein the same opportunity in ‘12 that BillyBob had in ‘96...running against the Evil Republican Majority Leader...or Speaker.

I think Clinton secretly believes it will be a blood-bath and will be greatly pleased if it is. The man is a firm believer in the ancient Klingon proverb that revenge is a dish best served cold.

I love how the ASS PRESS goes on pretending Clinton doesn’t hate Obama.

As if the ‘rats are all one big happy family.

Yeah, he's right when they sneak in liberals like Scott Brown posing as a republican.

They will be worse. Republicans need to find a way to illustrate the truth apparent in this chart:

Billy Jeff's "opportunity" in 1996 was the Republican Majority Leader or the Speaker.

It was Bob Dole.

I must respectfully disagree. Old BJ was a masterful politician, repeatedly elected in a swing state. Zero comes from a one-party town in one-party state, and shows no inclinations towards a mid-course correction.

My preference is that the voters issue him a stinging rebuke this November, bringing with them a comprehensive conservative mandate.

They WILL be much much worse.
But I see a problem with GOP overconfidence here, which
to me is the real issue.
I’d like to see the RINOs handing their heads IN ADDITION to seeing a big rollback of Dem seatholders.
I just don’t think there’s enough time.
All my instincts tell me that the RNC has ALREADY been manoeuvering to position Romney as its candidate, and I KNOW they’re extending their hegemony and whatever influence they can muster in more local elections to put NON Tea Party candidates in. There was an FR thread this AM, I will link to in a little while.

No. THe foundation of the economic ‘recovery’ will be just as its been for months: lies, illogic, subterfuge, citations of “respected economists”, forecasts, new wrinkles on ‘saved’ and ‘created’, and further puffing up every little make-work project you and I are paying for in some distant state, to overcompendate unskilled workers who will then be beholden to vote Democrat till the end of time.
They, in other words, continue to dig a DEEPER hole for a
Foundation, because that’s all they know how to do.
It will all fall in on them, and they’ll be buried alive.
(I thought I would just exploit the metaphors Joe Biden’s been using for months, about ‘deep holes’ the whole country was in, and how we need “ladders” to get out—this is a sick joke on a cosmic scale.

Note the Clinton-speak qualifier. Maybe dimowits catch a break with economy, but no way dimowit party leaders keep their heads on straight.

I think we'll do much better.

More Clinton-speak. He doesn't define 'we.'
