While polls show more people drifting away from acceptance of "global warming," the newest superstar among conservatives – Glenn Beck – is embracing it.
"You'd be an idiot not to notice the temperature change," he says.
He also thinks it could be caused partly by man's activity.
At home, he's going green by using energy-saving products.
"I'm willing to do anything but use the CFLs," he says of compact fluorescent light bulbs. "I put them in once and couldn't stand the way they lit up the room."
The kinder, gentler, greener and warmer side of Beck, known as a firebrand conservative, came to light in an interview in USA Weekend.
Beck also has lots of friends on the other side of the political spectrum, he reveals. He calls George Clooney "a good, honest man." Beck says the two of them had an extended conversation about the genocide in Darfur.
"We came to an immediate, completely wholehearted agreement about the situation," Beck says. "That is, to put aside the politics and give troops what they need to protect people over there. He's a good, honest man who believes passionately about doing something about it."
Beck's personal publicist, Matt Hiltzik, is a Democratic power player who helped get Hillary Rodham Clinton elected to the U.S. Senate, says the magazine report.

There have only been a very few leaders throughout history who did not turn out to have feet of clay. George Washington isn't back yet!
And who is your main interest in your career?
If you not taking care of number one first you can't take care of any one else.
What is it with all of these hit pieces. Is a “bunker buddy” conspiracy afoot?
That does it then. I'm convinced.
Is a certain group really really worried about this guy or what?
I use CFBs everywhere. Obviously, we are on opposite sides of the political spectrum and must learn to love ACORN, SEIU and Harry Reid.
Well then, that settles that.
Yep. Apparently, Farah is in the bag for Romney. Anyone that might cast mud on his pet RINO is automatically a target.
Sucks that he fell off the wagon. He’s was doing so well.
Absolutely, I watch Glenn often and I have never heard him say the things that this article says. As a poster noted above this was debunked twice on here yesterday.
It amazes me how fast some a willing to throw our own under the bus for an article on WND of all places.
When I hear Glenn him self say it, I'll believe it otherwise this is crap.
O.K. So it’s a group supporting rinos and a group of “bunker buddies” teaming up against a radio host. Good to know.
Too many seeking perfection from everyone who is on our side. Have one different opinion (I believe this article is bunk) use a chalk board or weep for your Country on TV and your outta there.
Please stop the madness! This article is complete hogwash. Maybe if the Beck bashers would simply get a few of their facts straight first... but then they would have very little to bash Beck with.
It’s a hit piece full of lies.
In typical Alinsky fashion that some of you tend to forget....”Pick a target, freeze it....”
NOTICE the WND article is “tagged” to MEDIA MATTERS. The George Soros funded democratic leftist group!
“Progressivism” was the topic; not hacking at conservatives. Yes there ARE Progressive Republicans...we affectionately call RINOS.
DO NOT jump on this bandwagon.....Ever heard of divide and conquer? The Leftists are out to conquer the Tea Party movement by dividing the ranks.
Progressivism = Communism
Good point. How many times has the object of this attack pushed a valid issue that the media would not otherwise touch. A lot of issues have gone viral because he pushed.
If we’re not smart enough to avoid this sort of divide and conquer crap, with everything that’s on the line, we deserve to perish.
I am just SO used to being disappointed by principle lacking people, that I guess I just sort of expect it.
“How can it be debunked, its in the article at USA weekend”
So, if its in print, it must be true? According to your logic, man-made GW is true, Obama is messiah is true, etc...
It's just not in evidence right now...
Which candidate are you referring too?
I listen to talkers to gleen as much information as I can, I never in my life rejected or supported a candidate base on what some one on the radio or TV said if some do that is their problem. I pretty much thought that's what dems do.
