Protection Against 2009 H1N1 To Be Included in 2010-2011 Seasonal Flu Vaccine
Flu.gov ^ | February 22, 2010

A key U.S. Food and Drug Administration Advisory Committee recommended today that protection against the 2009 H1N1 virus, which was first identified last April, be included in the 2010-2011 seasonal influenza vaccine starting this fall. That means that, barring some unforeseen circumstance, this fall, most Americans will be able to return to the traditional routine of having one flu vaccine to protect them against the major circulating flu viruses. As is always the case with seasonal vaccine, younger children who have never had a seasonal vaccine will still need two doses.

Remember, initially H1N1 vaccine was scarce. Does this mean there is now a glut of H1N1 vaccine on the market and this is a way to take care of over-stocked supplies?

Nevertheless, people should have the right to choose whether to get it or not.

You’re going to reject everything approved by the FDA for the next few years just because a democrat is in charge? Come on.

No. So far, just this H1N1 thing. I just find it creepy. There's something not right here. I can't explain it logically, but I'm steering clear of this one.

There was a swine flu that went around in 1976.

This isn’t the first swine flu to go around.

His grounds for saying that I didn’t NEED to get it was that people my age have had some form of swine flu two or three times already and already have some immunity, my guess is as much as the swine flu vaccine is likely to impart.

He also tells me that any flu vaccine will help impart some partial immunity to any other vaccine simply because viruses share many similar features. He made it clear that it is not full immunity, but could help lessen the severity of what you do come down with.

FWIW, he is a big advocate for flu vaccines, just not ones that he thinks aren’t really necessary. He would recommend, however, that younger people who haven’t had some other form of swine flu get it, and if I had insisted, likely he would have given it to me.

No, we can reject something that has FDA approval simply based on its track record.

In some places.

That proves nothing.

OK, so most people didn’t want, otherwise there wouldn’t be stockpiles of it left.

You were saying ...

Folks, it’s a vaccine not a mind control device. If you don’t want it don’t get it.

LOL... ummm..., from reading here, some people are already being "mind-controlled"... :-)

Has anyone mentioned the black helicopters yet or the contrails?

If you don’t mind the loss of your freedom to make your own health care decisions, fine.

What’s wrong with those who object? Why the need to mock or ridicule them?

You were saying ...

It has nothing to do with the ‘administration.’ Just listen to your doctor. You’re going to reject everything approved by the FDA for the next few years just because a democrat is in charge? Come on.

Well, I think they've been talking to "Walter" ... :-)

I just saw where they put the H1N1 virus!

Some people get way to carried away with the idea of forcing such things as vaccinations on other people. I dont know what bothers me more, their attitudes or the vaccinations.

I do know that there can be serious problems with the vaccinations and it should be a personal issue, if a person declines it then another person should not try to force it on them with whatever means they have.

Anyway I know of at least one person who has such attitudes and beliefs and I wondered if her beliefs had anything to do with the horrible Autoimmune Disorders that her son suffered from as a teenager and young adult. So I started doing some searching and came up with a whole plethora of information on vaccination-triggered autoimmune disorders and Autoimmune Diseases linked to vaccination.

I have not got a flu shot in over 10 years and I dont miss them at all. My problem is with those people who think it is their crusade to make other people get the flu shots.

The immune system needs to work and getting a vaccine is not exactly the same thing as getting the disease.

I worry about the *I’m from the government and I’m here to help* mentality.

Please....

I know life has risks, but let ME be the one to decide which ones to take.

You’re clearly not alone.

They’re going to find this backfiring, I believe.

I would think this only makes it more economical.

That doesn't mean it necessarily makes good medical sense.

When someone finds a way to repeal the Law of Unintended Consequences, then I'll be first in line for everything that comes down the pike :)

This H1N1 issue has been a farce from the very beginning. First, the never-ending hype, then the unavailability when the vaccine was needed, then the hype when the vaccine wasn’t needed, and now the manipulation of the vaccine for next year. How much is all of this costing us?

The linkage of vaccines to neurological disorders comes through the promotion of an auto-immune process, triggered by the virus present in the vaccine
