Israel receives military and financial assistance, and also some diplomatic support at the United Nations, but the US puts pressure on Israel to surrender parts of the homeland... It seems to me a Ron Paul presidency would be good for Israel and for the United States. Its foreign policy non-interventionism and its concern to protect national sovereignty would provide Israel with a greater impetus to increase its own independence and sense of national honor. I hope American Zionists will resist the immediate, meretricious attractions of American financial assistance for Israel. Ron Paul would both end this infantilizing, and even corrupting, aid and respect Israel's national sovereignty. Taking the long and deep view, Ron Paul should be the Zionist choice."

Pro-Israeli Independence, Pro-Zionism, Pro-Sarah Palin and Pro-Rand Paul!!
Ron Paul Zionism! End Foreign Aid, and allow Israel to act freely in its own defense!!
I am not supporting Ron Paul for President in 2012. Good grief, the man will be 77.
My girl is Sarah Palin. And she's bringing the Paul People to the table. I think that's a good thing.
Palin/Paul Alliance 2012!!
I agree that Ron Paul’s views have been grossly misunderstood and he is NO anti-Semite!
Very pleased that Palin endorsed Rand Paul, who will hopefully be Kentucky’s next Senator! :)
Palin 2012.
No.
When Israel wants to show faith, Israel will refuse foreign funds. Otherwise we will just see them going around begging at China’s or Russia’s back door.
What's done, is done.
The truth of the matter is, there has been a loose alliance between the Palin camp and the Paul camp going back at least 4 years. Just as there was a loose alliance between the RonPaulist libertarians and the Reagan Republicans back in 1976 and 1980. This isn't a "rivalry". It's a political alliance.
This is good for the Paul People, good for the GOP, and good for Sarah Palin's support in 2012.
The Palin/Paul Alliance -- the New Definition of Real Conservatism in America.
Respectfully, bollocks.
ISRAEL IS READY TO BE 100%-CAPITALIST. It's only US Foreign Aid that's holding them back.
Once the US cuts off all foreign aid, Israel will acheive true independence.
Personally, I think that would be a good thing for both countries.
Oh Lord no!
Still no.
Oh, Lord, yes.
Been awhile in coming, but here we come.

The Palin/Paul Alliance. The new definition of "American Conservatism".
(shrugs).
As goes Sarah Palin, so goes Free Republic. Which means that the Palin/Paul People (PPP) are going to win.
Palin/Paul Alliance 2012. The New Definition of American Conservatism.
financial aid is one thing. But what about the war against islamofascist terror??
“As goes Sarah Palin, so goes Free Republic.”
Not so fast, newbie
Paul is a “9/11 truther.” Some nut house is missing its nut.
Howzabout this.
Here's a little historical anecdote I heard from Ron Paul's former chief staffer, Dr. Gary North. It's from his article, "Nuclear Agates in a Marbles World".
There is one target with such enormous strategic importance that for it be taken out is so unthinkable that literally everything hinges on it not just today, but permanently. This target is ground zero of a balance of power strategy that has been operational for 1400 years. It is a granite cubicle called the Kaaba. Inside it is a black stone, which Muslims believe was found by Abraham and Ishmael. For hundreds of millions of Muslims, this is the holiest of relics. If these two religious objects inside Mecca were ever obliterated, the survival of Islam might be called into question.
That would make the Bomb more powerful than Allah....
This is theologically inconceivable for Muslims, or at least ritually unmentionable."
Now THAT is Political Honesty.
THAT is how you win a War against Islam (if we're politically incorrect and honest enough to admit that we are at war with Islam). NUKE MECCA. Islam cannot be true, if Mecca doesn't exist.
And on, and on, and on....
In Islam, Mecca is God's geographic point of contact with the Faithful. All prophecies lead to Mecca. The nuclear destruction of Mecca would be as theologically-devastating to Islam, as would the discovery of Christ's Bones to Christendom.
The difference is, Christ's Bones can't be found on Earth -- because He reigns at the right hand of the Father even now.
But Mecca can be destroyed. And that would overthrow the very philosophical basis for the existence of Islam. Game, Set, Match -- permanently.
In other words, if you want to fight a War against Islam: either Nuke Mecca and be done with it, forever -- or else keep bleeding blood and treasure in the same sorts of halfway brush wars, for decades.
I've only ever seen two public figures willing to speak on these facts in public: former Representative Tom Tancredo, and Ron Paul's proxy writer Dr. Gary North!!
Why is it that only Tom Tancredo's camp, and Ron Paul's camp, are willing to confront Theo-political Reality? Nuke Mecca, and it's all over for Islam, forever... but only Tom Tancredo's people, and Ron Paul's people, are willing to speak this truth out loud.
Sarah Palin understands the importance of Theo-Politics. That's probably why she's bringing the Rand Paul people under her wing.
You Betcha.
Nice comment, I agree.
I am not a Ron Paul follower but reading up etc, I think he’s been misunderstood.
He has gotten some labels that people just seem to go along with, without further investigation.
I have a hard time seeing Sarah going along with alot of what Paul stands for and very publicly says (eliminating the various departments in the Federal Government (not just reducing spending, completely eliminating them), eliminating the Income Tax, completely withdrawing all US troops deployed overseas, etc).
I do support Ron Paul, and (grudgingly I will admit) Sarah is a decent politican, but outside of Paul being very independant of the GOP and her admiring him for it, I don't really see them getting along.
you actually think you can defeat islam simply by blowing up a rock?
Palin endorsed mccain so maybe FR should also go with him?
What she said.
Ron Paul is too much of an idealogue to be an effective executive. He’s good at reinforcing principles no doubt and he has surprised me with how successful he’s been in communicating ideas. The fact that the GOP establishment doesn’t embrace him has been a blessing in disguise. Ron Paul gets invited to shows on channels like MSNBC and CNN, where he sounds off on limited government and the Constitutional principles to a liberal audience! I personally think it’s healthy for his ideas (particularly those regarding economics) to gain steam among such a crowd.
But yeah, he is not an effective politician.
my boy is Jim Demint (he’ll probably become the next majority leader since he was the first to support Toomey, Rubio, and Davore
Well, he’s not embraced by Conservatives thats for sure. I still like him though, he’s really the only one talking about really revolutionary things (how many politicans want to completely get rid of the IRS).
Dude... I've been watching Sarah Palin for a long time.
Before she ever got picked for Veep by McCain, her position on Iraq was "Let the troops finish their job, and bring them home as soon as possible." That's a direct quote from her Alaskan State politics days. That's original and uncorrupted Governor Sarah Palin, from before the "McCain Days".
She's our creation. Ron Paul endorsed Sarah Palin back in 2006, and she's been endorsing the Pauls ever since.
I do support Ron Paul, and (grudgingly I will admit) Sarah is a decent politican, but outside of Paul being very independant of the GOP and her admiring him for it, I don't really see them getting along.
Well, I don't mean any offense, but you're bloody well wrong.
Do you think that Ron and Rand Paul don't strategize politics at Family Christmas Dinner together? And do you think that Sarah Palin's endorsement came as a surprise to either of them?
There's no rivalry between the Palins and the Pauls. Their families have been in loose Alliance for at least the last four years.
Palin/Paul Alliance 2012. The New Definition of American Conservatism.
“hes really the only one talking about really revolutionary things (how many politicans want to completely get rid of the IRS).”
OK what’s his plan? Give it a new name? As long as there is a government, it will need to be funded by some kind of tax (unless you believe it can be funded by voluntary donations) and that tax will have to be collected by the IRS.
Okay, I'm gonna spell this out for you REAL simple:
AND, of course, how can Allah command a hajj to Mecca, if Mecca doesn't exist?
I could go on, and on, and on. In Islam, Mecca is God's geographic point of contact with the Faithful. Take out Mecca, and you've proven that the American Bomb is more powerful than Allah.
Only Tom Tancredo's people, and Ron Paul's people, are ballsy enough to say so out loud.
Keep repeating your tired slanders.
Your time has come and gone, and now you are being uprooted and replaced by the new blood: The Palin/Paul Alliance.
Your Paul-hatred is old and obsolete.
Hey, darkwing!
I’d like you to meet “CC.”
“CC” is an aPAULogist who has a voluminous posting history (for being so recent.) He is also something of a psychic, foretelling the demise of FR, should the forum not heed the wisdom of his words. In less than a month he has developed a mighty command of HTML tags.
I just thought you’d like to meet him.
Hey, I don't see any "demise of FR" on the horizon.
Free Republic is Pro-Sarah Palin.
Sarah Palin is Pro-Rand Paul
I'm Pro-Sarah Palin AND Pro-Rand Paul.
Sounds like my kinda folk. I'm here to stay.
Try again.
1) you don’t even realize how insane you are for suggesting that we should nuke Saudi Arabia.
2) you’re assuming islamists will stop and think to connect the dots instead of “Kill Kill Kill!”
3) Ron Paul said “they’re terrorists because we’re occupiers” and he’s going to nuke Saudi Arabia? Right.
He wants to get rid of it and replace it with...here it comes..nothing!.
I don't know if you knew this, but the Income Tax doesn't pay for anything other than the National Debt. It doesn't fund schools, hospitals, education, defense, nothing. The Federal Government gets its money primarily from Capital Gains, Exise taxes, social security taxes, bond sales, sales taxes on smokes and booze, taxes designed to "pay" for government programs, etc. The Income tax doesn't fund any function of Government other than paying off the National Debt.
The corresponding reduction in spending on maintaining an overseas empire, useless government departments, and generally vastly reducing the size of government are expected to provide the savings necessary to continue paying off the debt with the elimination of the income tax.
Destroying Mecca would destroy Islam as we know it, but it would not destroy the hundreds of millions of surviving Muslims enraged and mobilized by such an act.
OTOH, Judaism survives quite well without a High Priest, a Temple, and an Altar with daily burnt offerings. Islam would adapt to the destruction of their holiest of places also.
OTOOH, it is a fun fantasy to contemplate from time to time.

You seem to have a very low view of Islamic understanding of their own theology.
Lemme put it to you real simple-like: if someone were to discover the Bones of Jesus Christ, there would be NO POINT in fighting for Christianity. It would all be over. There would be no point in the Religion anymore.
ALL Christians would give up on everything, tomorrow. Total religious apathy across billions of people. Total cataclysmic immediate Faith-Death, everywhere.
The same thing would happen to Islam, if the Ka'aba were destroyed.
It's the whole ball-game, for a thousand and more years, in one City Block.
Islamists aren’t rational people. That’s the part you don’t quite understand.
Islamists are Faith-driven Fundamentalist people.
That's the part I understand a whole lot better than you do.
See my #37 and #39.
How can anybody trust libertarians when their favorite
son loads up legislation that he knows will pass and
gives the pork while giggling I voted against it.?

Doesn't matter.
Your time has come and gone, and now you are being uprooted and replaced by the new blood: The Palin/Paul Alliance.
Your Paul-hatred is old and obsolete. You are being replaced and assimilated.
When Rand Paul wins the GOP Primary in Kentucky, you will support Rand Paul against the Democrats; and when Sarah Palin wins the GOP Primary in 2012, you will support Sarah Palin against the Democrats.
The Palin/Paul Alliance is the New Future of Conservatism in America.
what does any of this have to do with Ron Paul? He rationalizes the terrorists
Ron Paul is the only US Congressman who proposes Total Abolition of all Foreign Aid, thus allowing the Israelis total freedom of military action in their own defense.
As the Article above proves, Israel would be better off if they acted in their own defense, without reference to US Foreign Aid.
Therefore, TRUE Pro-Zionists should support Ron and Rand Paul, and Sarah Palin. As do I!!!
and how will this deal with Iran’s nukes?
http://www.house.gov/paul/congrec/congrec2006/cr040506.htm
Regardless, I can put my finger in the air, and see how the wind is a-blowin'.
As goes Sarah Palin, so goes Free Republic.
The Palin/Paul Alliance is advancing, and the Paul-Haters are receding.
Just the way it's gonna be.
Could be just me though.
Not my problem.
And if Israel wants to destroy Iran's nukes, then I would continue to look the other way and say, "Not my Problem".
I favor zero Foreign Aid to Israel, and total Israeli Freedom of Action. Let them nuke whomsoever they need to, to defend their own existence. I'm fine with that.
“Not my problem.”
they will be your problem once they are given to terrorists and used against US cities.
