The reason they sat on it is because Reagan was talking about Medicare. While it may have been good politics or even good policy when Reagan was arguing against the legislation, it would be political suicide today to argue for abolishing Medicare on the basis that it's socialism.

Reagan certainly didn't do it during his presidency.

Reagan’s arguments are against opening the door for an incrementally expanding agenda.

Barack Obama has said that his program is not socialism and “besides” people like the socialism of medicare. He tries to play both sides of that coin.

Since ALL of talk radio decided to air this this week, either they all get show prep by listening to the other shows, or they were instructed to “hold off”. I myself had emailed them the links on this years ago (2008).
