MIAMI (AP) -- Six Haitian orphans completed a whirlwind journey Wednesday when they landed in Miami and were united with their new parents, four days after Haitian police seized them and sent them to a tent city because of fears they were being kidnapped.
"They're very calm," Sabrina Sosa of a children's home helping with accommodations. "I guess they're still in some kind of shock."
The orphans were headed to the Port-Au-Prince airport Saturday when a group of 20 men blocked four women accompanying the children, shouting: "You can't take our children!" Police briefly detained the women, and the orphans - ages 1-5 - spent three nights sleeping on the ground in a tent city. The U.S. Embassy official carrying the documents needed to take them through immigration had been running late.

These kids had nothing to do with the 10 detained missionaries. The women who were shepherding these children got stuck in a misunderstanding over the Prime Minister’s signature on paperwork.
I read that all the Americans (in the first case) have been released, including the two that had been held for a few more days.
We have about 300,000 Haitians bankrupting the state of Florida with endless benefits. Will any of you do gooders please take them in your state so they can bankrupt you and your state? Thanks.

Thank you, Deb. I was aware these children were being released to different missionaries as the story references they are from Minnesota and taking the children back there.
The story also mentioned the 2 missionaries from the Idaho Baptist group of 10 who are still being held in prison.
CNN did a really nice piece on the children in your article. They were so sweet.
I still need to get a TV since mine died. I’m glad you got to see that.
