If you were having trouble understanding anti-gun people, this will not help. A high school math teacher named Doug Van Gorder wrote a letter to the Boston Globe decrying the idea of having self-defense guns in schools. In part of his letter, he shows what can surely be described as one of the most telling views into the minds of gun banners.
"But as a progressive, I would sooner lay my child to rest than succumb to the belief that the use of a gun for self-defense is somehow not in itself a gun crime."
So, he views the use of a gun for self defense as a crime, and he would rather have his child die than see a good person (assuming this applies to the police, also) use a gun to save a life.
I simply have nothing to add to that.

The “Progressive” mindset is something I will never, ever fathom. Nor do I wish to even try. The level of evil there is beyond redemption, I think. I know God specializes in major miracles, but to redeem someone like this would take a MIND-BOGGLING miracle!

I have a confession to make...I loathe the bstrds...and I NEVER talk with them. Once the ‘Don’t you just love (Obama, Reid, the new blah, blah)...I check out. At a BBQ some nitwit was going on and on about “my man Obama” and I just kept quiet. He asked...I said “I am probably the most conservative SOB you know” and it stopped the horsecrap...Bammy thinks they should “get all up in our faces” well, it’s OK with me...I’ve been doing it to THEM for years.
Yeah, but I don’t even think the jackass means it. I would suspect he’s proud of himself now, but at crunch time...??? Though were it me, I would let him know, in no uncertain terms, that NO ONE packing a gun and in my employ would come to the defense of his son, but would happily defend anyone else in the vicinity. I wonder what he’d say to that.
Better send the social workers to check on that kid.

I’ve said it before, say it again: Liberalism is an insideous mental disease with no known cure. 40 years ago, these people were kept in state institutions known as “nut houses”. Now, they walk amongst us and are involved in govt. Eventually, we’re gonna have to deal with “the problem” because they’re gonna get us all killed. We cannot co-exist with mentally ill people like this. Absolutely insane....

All I can say is, “Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition”. This man’s neighbors should put up a sign in their yards stating, “This house is protected by Smith&Wesson. However, my neighbor doesn’t believe in gun ownership”.
