The democrats are indeed the party of no. and the republicans are the party of KNOW!! This (p)Residential doofus had to consult with his staff on his own proposal., personally I would be totally be ashamed and embarrassed to run such a meeting!

the problem is that facts do not matter to them.

I think the Dems achieved what they wanted to achieve. Those strongly for or against were unlikely to change their opionons based on this show.

But far and away most people don’t pay that much attention. All they know is that it happened. So to them, Obama kept his promise and had an open debate about it.

I suspect approval for the plan will get a bumop from this.

Rename, repackage, rewrite it a tad smaller, and sell another pig in a poke.

Tennessee has joined several other states in trying to pass a Health Care Freedom Act. NO COLAs for granny, retired Military or retired fed employees. BIG NEW fees for Tricare for Life retired over 65 Military's secondary health ins. (DOD bill already passed, delayed but goes into effect 2011 NEEDS TO BE REPEALED)

TRI CARE FOR LIFE This from a google search:

http://economicspolitics.blogspot.com/2009/05/tricare-for-life-is-obama-trying-to.html

This option would help reduce the costs of TFL, as well as costs for Medicare, by introducing minimum out-of pocket requirements for beneficiaries. Under this option, TFL would not cover any of the first $525 of an enrollee’s cost-sharing liabilities for calendar year 2011 and would limit coverage to 50 percent of the next $4,725 in Medicare cost sharing that the beneficiary incurred. (Because all further cost sharing would be covered by TFL, enrollees could not pay more than $2,888 in cost sharing in that year.)

Congress plans to block Tricare fee increases
http://www.armytimes.com/news/2009/10/military_tricarefees_blocked_100709w

By Rick Maze - Staff writer, Oct 7, 2009

Tricare fee increases imposed last week by the Defense Department will be repealed by a provision of the compromise 2010 defense authorization bill unveiled Wednesday by House and Senate negotiators.

Snip

The fee increases were announced on Sept. 30 and took effect on Oct. 1, but the defense bill, HR 2647, includes a provision barring any fee increases until the start of fiscal 2011.

Snip

Retired Army Maj. Gen. Bill Matz, president of the National Association for Uniformed Services, said the announcement of fee increases was shocking considering that the Obama administration promised earlier this year to hold off on any new fee Tricare fee increases until fiscal 2011.

“President Obama and DoD assured NAUS and the entire military family earlier this year that there would rightly be no increases in any Tricare fees” in fiscal 2010, Matz said. “We took them at their word, and I can’t believe that a co-pay increase like this was allowed to go forward,” he added.

But what about Louise Slaughter’s story about a Buffalo woman having to use her dead sister’s dentures! Oh the humanity!

I wrote a blog post about it:

Louise Slaughter’s Tale of the False Teeth :-)

She was over the top as many of the Dems were, trying to pull at heartstrings rather than the specifics of the bills. What a friggin' moonbat she is! She's got to go in November.

Good point on your blog about dental care not even being in the current Healthcare debacle. But then again, she probably hasn’t READ the bill.

I think Weezy’s last 24 years in congress have been much more than enough. Time to pack up, retire, and move back to Kentucky. Maybe set up a used denture store or something.

LOL!

The problem is, her district, the NY 28th is so gerrymandered that it's hard to beat her because it encompasses the entitlement class in Monroe, Erie and Niagara Counties:

I agree with you that she's got to go though. There is efforts being made by conservatives and Tea Party Movement people in Buffalo and the Rochester area unseat her.

Kudos to you Rochester Veteran! We have entered a new era where FReerepublic and conservative blogs can have two-way links and references! You have a distinct and targeted local 'community' that uses your excellent commentary and this will also expand the FReeper universe as readers of your blog see the FReerepublic 'live thread' link. Outstanding.

While the term 'blog pimp' won't disappear from FR (because others have and will abuse it), this is a textbook example of how to do it well and to benefit FR and the conservative movement in addition to your blog. Well done.

Last yeat, I hooked up with several local conservatives via my posting of Rochester Tea Party info, here on FR with links back to RochesterConservative. It's a good way to spread the word.

I agree. FR Admin Moderators have tried to educate longer time FReepers of this. IMO, yours is a great example to help educate and spread the word that all blogs are not created equal and many can be our FRiends!

Zero and his gang will use her as a scapegoat for what is about to happen in the Middle East.

And it is about to happen.

Michael Medved, broadcasting from Israel this week, met with some Top Honchos who indicated "Don't be surprised WHEN you wake up in the morning and Israel has surprised the world again."

Any time now...

And a prayer goes up for your son Patrick for protection and blessings, and for his buds.
