Al Gore a lightning rod at Apple shareholder meeting

CUPERTINO, Calif.--The presence of one of the world's pre-eminent environmentalists at Apple's shareholder meeting Thursday was the subject of much of the morning's pointed discussion.

Gore was seated in the first row, along with his six fellow board members, in Apple's Town Hall auditorium as several stockholders took turns either bashing or praising his high-profile views on climate change.

A longtime Apple shareholder stood at the microphone and urged against Gore's re-election to the board. Gore "has become a laughingstock. The glaciers have not melted," Sheldon said, referring to Gore's views on global warming. "If his advice he gives to Apple is as faulty as his views on the environment then he doesn't need to be re-elected."

Can you be a good conservative, standing up for conservative ideas and values, and still buy Apple products and support Gore, knowing they spend a portion of your money to further Liberal causes?

'Pull'

Microsoft was neutral in contributions, which were minimal, before the Democrats begain their anti-trust attacks on Microsoft in the mid-1990s.

And, from those numbers, Apple supports a higher percentage of Democrats.

In the same vein: How many conservatives have Progressive Auto Insurance?

I use a mac because it works. Period. Not because who’s on the board. Would I quit my job because my company supports liberal causes periodically, not hardly. It called the real world.

I see your point, but....

You would have to live in a shebang, eat what you hunt or gather and walk everywhere you needed to go to avoid having a cent of your money ending up in the pockets of liberals and liberal causes.

No, I don't think that will be permitted under the dems healthcare legislation. ;-)

True, and I actually did, for a very short time, when I came back from overseas. Once I found out they were a BIG Liberal contributor, I dropped them like a hot potato. Shoulda figured that out from the name, but oh well, the wrong was righted.

Yup, and thus the “Lesser of Two Evils”. Just about everything that’s made now-a-days in made in China, or some other foreign place.

The only thing I can say is I guess I’d rather support some Chinese guy trying to put food on his table for his family, than shove another dollar bill into the mouth of Al Gore, period.

Al Gore comes out of hiding, but he has reason to stay in the “witless” protection program: (1) http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2457875/posts (2) http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2458674/posts

It's more than just Apple as a company. For the most part the entire culture of their customer base is a complete turn off. I see Apple and immediately think, "another duped democrat".

I know there are some exceptions, but almost all Apple users I meet:

1. believe in man-made global warming.
2. vote Democrat
3. annoy the s*&t out of me.
