Al Gore a lightning rod at Apple shareholder meeting

CUPERTINO, Calif.--The presence of one of the world's pre-eminent environmentalists at Apple's shareholder meeting Thursday was the subject of much of the morning's pointed discussion.

Gore was seated in the first row, along with his six fellow board members, in Apple's Town Hall auditorium as several stockholders took turns either bashing or praising his high-profile views on climate change.

A longtime Apple shareholder stood at the microphone and urged against Gore's re-election to the board. Gore "has become a laughingstock. The glaciers have not melted," Sheldon said, referring to Gore's views on global warming. "If his advice he gives to Apple is as faulty as his views on the environment then he doesn't need to be re-elected."

You clearly have no experience from which to make an assessment.

My sentiments exactly.

Why is ManBearPig on the Board of any company? He is a multimillionaire (est worth 500 mil!). So why line his pockets...unless, of course Jobs, et al, believe as he does.

So...when you buy that HP or Toshiba, (or in my case soon to be a replacement BlackBerry-—NOT an Iphone) send the Apple peeps a letter, with a cipy of your receipt, and explain WHY HP, Toshiba, etc got your sale and NOT their Apple product.

And, I am so glad Gore is getting booed and heckled for the liar he is!

Apple is the one with Gore on their board. They know their primary customer base supports his B.S.

Touche’. Thats really eye opening. Well, the way I look at it is, I could buy something foriegn, but I dont feel comfortable doing that if I can afford American. Secondly, I WILL NOT buy Chrysler, it has catered to the left for years, built shabby vehicles and (as of a few days ago) had the WORST value after sale when compared to other American sold vehicles. I will NOT buy GM. Ever again. I dont think I have to explain why. Plus with the way they are built, IMHO, Ford beats them all. I drive the car, the wife drives the F350. Lots of steel and a frame that cant be compared to makes me feel alot safer with her out there. So, doing the lest damage that I can, I’ll continue to support Ford.

>” A “good conservative”? What groupthink consensus decides what a “good conservative” is? And who are you to pose a question demanding not only introspection, but self-judgement and then a report back for group consensus review? In the Chinese and Soviet prison camps, prisoners had write, and rewrite, their life histories until they “correctly” described them according to the politically correct interpretations of their lives. What camp review board do you aspire to?

I have a Mac, and I’m a conservative, and here’s my answer to your question: Screw you. “

Wellllll, good for you. I knew is was just a matter of time before one of YOU came on here and started spreading hate. I only asked a question and was looking for others input, no flamers, no hate mongers, just good conversation and something for ALL of us to think about. As far as your comment goes, I think you just made yourself out to be a complete idiot. Everybody else on here is having a great discussion, making points and counter points. THEN....., there’s you. Your quote “SCREW YOU” was so enlightening that it, well, almost brought a tear to my eye. Thanks for proving my theory that there is always a dumbass just around the corner, waiting to pounce. LOL.

>”What camp review board do you aspire to?”

Well, as your parting gift, I’d like to comment on the fact that you likened me to running a Soviet Prison Camp, just because I asked a question? I guess I’d just like to close with one final question to you. ARE YOU DRUNK OR INSANE? (perhaps both). Now, no more hate. Drink your milk and off to bed with you.

Thats a good point. Seems I’ve seen Rush with an open Apple on his desk. Would like to know, was it donated? Did he buy it? Curious what his thoughts are on this.

Thanks for your reply.

You are right. Personally, I choose to minimize the impact, I guess.

>”Assholes exist in every walk of life and every endeavor; even in those that align with you politically.”

Aint that the truth.

I do too; when there’s a choice. I’d love to see Gore go to prison for his crimes.

Not clear at all; you cited nothing specific as a source of your disdain. Well then, what is this experience that makes you so hostile to someone you don’t even know? Apple products have helped make me a multimillionaire; I could just give a sh*t about Gore being a phony “trustee.” It doesn’t mean anything to most people. He’ll get his just desserts in the long run.

By the way, we used quite a few Macs when I worked for the RNC. Perhaps you should study up on the heavily democrat Microsoft Corp. They make Apple look like the John Birch Society.

Rush knows Apple’s execs are jerks, but the product is just damned good. Apple is stupid not to use him as a spokesperson. I bet they could add 5% market share if they touted Rush.

Has Gore ever run or worked for a business? Why is he on the board of anything? Has Gore ever had ANY training, education, or experience with climatology? Errr, I did not think so.

A quick thumbnail summary of Al Gore.

In 1907, Vladimer Lenin sent fellow Russian Communist Julius Hammer to NYC with lots of money. The purpose was to establish a beachhead in the US to make and launder money for the Russian Communists. He formed the Communist Party USA.

Hammer was a doctor who started a drug company and ran a medical clinic. A woman died after a botched abortion, illegal at the time, and Julius went to prison. His son Armand took his place.

Of his many holdings Armand owned Occidental Petroleum. He was very wealthy, thanks to Lenin, and he entertained lavishly. Among his close friends were the Schulzbergers, publishers of the NY Times. His first political conquest was Albert Gore, Sr., Democrat Senator from Tennessee. The Gores didn't have much money until then but soon lived on an entire floor of the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Washington.

When Al, Sr. retired, or died, his son took his place. Al Sr. and Jr were/are both active agents of the Russian Communists and the Communist Party USA. Of course, the MSM keeps us in the dark about this.

“A quick thumbnail summary of Al Gore.”

Well, I was a life long resident of Tennessee, from 1944 to 2005. I did not know about the Gore/Communist connection, but
I know my father despised Gore senior, and I know that Junior
is bogus. Remember, he did not carry Tennessee when he ran for POTUS.

I might add, his family farm that was leased out to a zinc mining company, and was said to be the largest polluter in the state.

It is also my understanding that during the big “lights out” night a few years ago, the flood lights that are just to illuminate the trees on his estate, were left ON.

Gore is said to be here in the Philippines this week.

For computers there’s really no comparison. PC is the way to go whether you go with windows or Linux.
No BSD?
No, can't admit that - because the version of Unix under which OS X runs is, IIRC, BSD.
