Yes. She was a BEAUTIFUL woman.
How about a photo of the offending (alleged)?
I know. I’m thinking about all the child molesters, et al, who have been released and ended up harming or killing too.
Indeed. Wow. So pretty.
I was trying to think if we ever had concerns about such things 50 years ago...certainly not to the degree and scale of today I’m sure.
Protection orders have exactly the opposite effect on someone that is either mentally disturbed or has a bent towards violence. As can be seen with this case once the guy was jailed it represented an escalation to which he responded with escalating his behavior. There have been a few articles that I’ve seen with similar outcomes. She probably would have been better off not involving authorities in this case and dealing with it herself and of course packing heat (rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6).
The only thing protection orders are good for is as a tool in divorce court to separate money and children from fathers. In those cases it works very well, unless the husband is mentally disturbed or has violent tendencies then see above.
Nutcases have privacy rights.
Underage juvenile criminals have privacy rights.
The right to an abortion is supposedly because of “privacy rights”
Why does everyone get “privacy rights” except for those who enjoy the rights of the 2A?
Restraining order= a scrap of paper, nothing more. It is a pity we educators give up our 2nd amendment rights at the edge of the school’s property. It is sad this lady died- it would have been better if she had hauled out a 1911 and remanded the perp to God’s custody.
Very TRUE, in a past lifetime, when I USED to liveand actually run a business in Wash. State, if you wanted to hire a new employee and asked city, county or state record offices to do a criminal background check (to make certain you didn’t hire a convicted thief, drug addict or con man), they would tell you ALL records were sealed and only a court order could make past criminal history available. I remember being lectured to several times by Government employees and being told, “These people have a right to privacy and protection.”
Perhaps it is different now...but I rather dont think so...

How sad.
I’m glad that none of the kids had to see that.
Former student?
She couldn’t have packed her own heat because she worked in a school and they’re gun free zones.
You know, to protect people from gun violence.
One less scumbag to stalk and kill another poor woman.
/Bump
If he was in jail in Pierce County, he might have been in the same jail where Maurice Clemons was released on a $2,000 bail. A few days later, Clemons murdered the four cops at the coffee shop.
I think they ARE looking at how the bail process is done in Washington state.
Third possibility: he bought the gun from his crack dealer.
That would be covered under the aforementioned "private sale". The crack dealer is allowed to sell a private gun, it's the crack he needs to stay away from.
Yes, I live in a town nearby where this incident occurred (the IA incident). Horrifying that we do basically nothing to protect innocent people from really “out-there” dangerous people such as the young man who murdered the very distinguished and accomplished HS coach. We are all sitting ducks, truly, just waiting for some nutcase who gets it in his/her head that we are Satan and need killing.
