The "cultural theft" argument is new to me. I guess it could lead to only blacks being able to play college backetball, only blacks and Pacific Islanders playing college football, only Hispanics and Asians playing college baseball, only Scots playing golf, and only German-Americans being allowed to drink beer.

and it's obvious that such a coordinated performance requires a lot of practice and rehearsal.
So all-in-all, I'm happy to see them engaged in a positive and constructive event like this.
It's far, far better than some other ways they might be spending their free time.
The solution is very simple. Henceforth all “performers” shall wear blackface so they are indistinguishable. Everybody, including all light-skinned negroes, will have to be a very dark shade of black. That way the judges can evaluate strictly on merit and not be influenced by skin color.
