Bali-Hoo: U.N Still Pushing for Global Environmental Control
Fox News ^ | 2/25/10 | George Russell

Despite the debacle of the failed Copenhagen climate change conference last December, the United Nations is pressing full speed ahead with a plan for a greatly expanded system of global environmental governance and for a multitrillion-dollar economic transfer scheme to ignite the creation of a "global green economy."

Boy are we seeing the movement to control the development of raw materials expand tremendously. In the Klamath River area, we have severe restraints on any forest management imposed by the Northwest Forest Plan and the CA Board of Forestry rules. Forest fires are allowed to burn in order to reduce fuels and as a surrogate for forest management.

Suction dredge gold mining is now curtailed by a statewide moratorium. Four hydropower dams are slated for removal.

Water quality (TMDL) rules are reaching in to control the groundwater resource and Endangered Species rules are asserting minimum instream flow requirements over historic water use rights that date back to the gold rush days. At the upper end of the Klamath, after the cut off of water to the farmers in 2001, they are now rationed water. Pesticide/fumigants are prohibited when no other suitable replacement is manufactured. Agriculture is on its knees.

Geothermal development is blocked by sacred tribal protests. Biomass utilization for energy is blocked by Air Quality regulations. Wind power is blocked by concerns over migratory birds.

Unmanaged maountain lion populations are destroying local deer herds.

Money is available to weatherproof homes, install energy efficient light bulbs and low flow toilets. This is supposed to provide "family wage" jobs for all those jobs lost in the natural resources fields. That is what is called a sustainable green economy. It is eating American industry like a cancer from the inside out.

It’s like people the world-round went to Vegas and they expect us to cover their bad bets.

Just another bail-out for bad gambles/investments.

Screw the UN!

How does the UN justify this garbage when there is virtually NO scientific proof global warming is happening? The British physics society has declared East Anglia CRU data corrupt along with problems with other data... the wheels have come off of global warming...

Doesn’t matter. The UN General Assembly is dominated by the under-developed nations. Any ‘science’ will do as long as it can be used to redistribute your wealth to their coffers.

The democrat party is similar. The only difference is they want to “spread the wealth around” using your wealth to pay for their programs.

all the western nations need to get the heck out of the UN, and its HQ needs to be forcibly removed from NY. They have been the enemy of freedom since it’s inception, time to do away with the enemy within... well one of the enemies within.

Good work M2! I’m saving this to a file so I can use parts of it in the comments section of the Times-Standard if that is OK with you?

also, Humboldt County suffers the same insanity as Syskiyou county PLUS the new offshore waters regulations and here is the mind blower. PG&E is applying for permits to test a underwater electrical generation system while the hydro dams on your end of the Klamath are being removed from production...
