Hillary's Dems still Key
RealClearPolitics ^ | February 28, 2010 | By Salena Zito

As both political parties consider how to gain the fickle support of Tea Party activists and independent voters in the 2010 midterm elections, another increasingly dissatisfied tribe exists for both to lure: Hillary Democrats.

No other candidate has captured their frustration better than U.S. Rep. Joe Sestak, the Southeastern Pennsylvania Democrat trying to take out one-time Republican U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter in the state's May primary.

A campaign web-ad for Sestak shows real Democrats who voted for Obama, set in a stark black-and-white backdrop, voicing their collective dissatisfaction with the president's support of Specter: "That's not change we can believe in."

No matter who wins, Arlen is history - thank God!

I’m more interested in watching the Obama / Hillary primary battle for 2012. Now that should be fun.

I’m sorry but anyone who could support Hillary is not someone whom I would consider sane. Sure, she’s marginally less radical (actually probably no less radical just more pragmatic) than Obama but for Pete’s sake, she’s just as corrupt and not much more qualified to lead this country than he is.

Obama is losing part of that "other side" - traditional "Jacksonian Democrats" whom Clinton brought back into the party...

LOL, now Stalin-in-drag is a "Jacksonian Democrat"!

Only a professional, certified journalist can put certain words together - if anyone else does it, the time-space continuum rips apart.

Of course...but from a strategic standpoint it gets Obama’s name off the ticket and makes it much less of a referendum on him...which they’ll lose even if the Republicans ran Carlos the Jackal in 2012. They may lose anyway, but at this point, they are sure to lose with Obama (unless a Republican Congress can bail him out...as they did with Bill Clinton).

Are “Hillary Democrats” the PUMA’s of 2008? The ones that whined about Hillary’s treatment and bashed Obama for months after the primaries, but still showed up and voted “D” on November 4, 2008?

Given Obama’s poll numbers I can see a insurgency in 2012. The PUMAs haven't disappeared in fact they maybe more motivated than ever.

Evan Bayh maybe another wild card in the game. Stock up on popcorn my FRiends.

Yea, but Evan seems a lot like John Edwards, so he likely has his own big-time skeletons to deal with.

Pretty much, there are a couple websites and blogs out there that are picking up steam from the PUMA’s and none of that steam seems to be behind POTUS.

Yep, those are the ones. Only proves that DemonRAT voters have the same level of integrity and love for country as their candidates. Hillary will not run in 2012 in my opinion.

That could be a very real possibility; just like Ted Kennedy challenged Jimmy Carter in ‘80.
