House Speaker Nancy Pelosi won't consider removing Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charles Rangel from his powerful post before the ethics panel wraps up a wide-ranging investigation of the New York Democrat.

Some fellow Democrats would like Rangel to step aside as chairman in the wake of the ethics ruling. But the speaker continues to stand by Rangel after the House ethics committee slapped him on the wrist for violating House rules by accepting trips to the Caribbean that were sponsored, in part, by corporations.

It is a public admonishment," Pelosi said in a taped interview airing Sunday on ABC's "This Week." "It said he did not knowingly violate House rules. So that gives him some comfort."

Charlie is lucky that he’s not a Republican. He’d be toast by now. Being a liberal, commie ‘RAT does have its advantages.

Exactly. The double standard of the Dems and the MSM is alive and well.

It won't fly during election time. All the GOP has to do is watch the Rats push this so-called healthcare legislation then come election time ask the Rats, “where are the lower premiums?” and then remind the people that the Rats are the most corrupt party in the history of our nation.

If the media would bore down on Rangel’s corruption as hard as they did the “wide stance” Republican he would have to go, but then the whole point of the endless stories about the Republican was not to expose corruption, but to show him and all Repubs as objects of scorn and ridicule in the eyes of the public. The meme is that Republicans are a national joke and only Democrats are serious about governing.

Didn't Pelosi just come out and say that she was presiding over the most ethical congress in many years?

Pelosi said in a taped interview airing Sunday on ABC's "This Week." "It said he did not knowingly violate House rules. So that gives him some comfort."

Oh, I get it. It's only ethical if you choose it to be ethical.

Clearly, the ethics standard for Democrats is not knowing their misconduct violated House rules absolves them from its consequences.

In other words, they only have to play dumb...

...or before is convicted...
...or before he is sentenced...
...or before his appeal is considered... etc...
