The Obama administration will seek to reinstate the assault weapons ban that expired in 2004 during the Bush administration, Attorney General Eric Holder said today.

"As President Obama indicated during the campaign, there are just a few gun-related changes that we would like to make, and among them would be to reinstitute the ban on the sale of assault weapons," Holder told reporters.

There are rumors that parts of Blair Holt's HR-45 will be added to this Assault Weapons bill. Not only do they want to ban most semi-autos, they want Illinois style licensing, and require all states to adopt California rules. Holder was one of the strongest proponents of HR-45 before it died in the House. Finally, the rules proposed will make California's AWB look good in comparasion.

CCW may also be revoked nationwide with this bill

The Democrats, if they go along with this, are really asking for it.

I cannot wait for this crowd to be voted out of office.

Bradywatch PING!!!

I have been saying this for awhile but here goes again...

Obama will seek these 4 elements in a gun bill:

1. An expanded HR 45, gun owner licensing. All gun owners will have to have these licenses, even owners of facilimie weapons (AKA Airsoft and BB). Licenses will only be granted if the records of the applicant are clean (This includes misdemeanors from decades ago). Licenses will have high renewal fees ($100-300/yr). Licensees will be required to hold $1 million in liability insurance. Possession of otherwise permitted weapons (See #3) without license is a felony.

2. Ammunition accountability... All ammo will be required to be microstamped and will be taxed $1/round. All non stamped ammo will be required to be turned in or thrown away. Possession of non-marked ammo is a felony. This part of the act also bans “Cop Killer” bullets. Furthermore, this will require the gun to leave a microstamp of its own on the ammo. (BTW, this will also affect law enforcement and military ammunition stocks, as they will be required to have stamps of their own)

3. Expanded “Assault Weapons” ban— This includes most all semiauto rifles, anything that can be “Bump Fired”, Semiauto handguns, and Semi-auto shotguns. It also includes pump-action shotguns and “Sniper Rifles” AKA your deer rifle. The AWB will also require people with “Prebans” to register their guns as Machine Guns, and that the tax stamp will go up to $10,000 per weapon. If you can’t afford this, you have to turn the weapon in without compensation...

4. Expansion of the Lautenberg amendment: Removes “Domestic Violence” as disqualifier to gun ownership, inserts any misdemeanor as disqualifer... Anyone with a misdemeanor on their record will be prohibited from owning a firearm. This includes DUI and traffic offenses, and offenses decades ago.

Finally, all CCW permits will be voided. Also, all gun and ammo imports will be banned.

It looks like the Dims are realizing that they are not going to be reelected, so they are going to cause as much damage as possible. Immigration reform and massive defense cuts are probably also instore, along with Health Care “Reform”

The boy just doesn’t seem to be able to understand America and know what it means to be an American. I guess that’s why being an American born on U.S. soil was a qualification to be POTUS. Any moron can be a U.S. citizen. Being an American is not something you get from a piece of paper with a couple rubber stamps on it. Those things are only good to help you get welfare benefits.

.308 Has become my least favorite range ammo to buy. I totally love the caliber, don't get me wrong. I myself have a PTR91. The ammo is just difficult to come by in bulk(compared to others) anymnore, and costs MUCH more than .223. It seems that .308 is quickly becoming a NON-plinking round.

What’s the source for this? Holder is a racist control freak, but I’m pretty sure I recognize that quotation from last year.

HR 45 is pushed every year by Bobby Rush, the former Black Panther, militant separatist, and violent felon, but it hasn’t made any headway.

Chitcago’s pistol ban and onerous registration are about to get thrown out by the Supreme Court (McDonald v Chicago starts this week), and once they rule that cities and states can’t trample 2nd Amendment rights, I don’t see how IL’s complete ban on bearing arms will stand.

While I’m sure they’d like any and every infringement and ban they can get, they’re going to have enough trouble just trying to slow the restoration of our rights—much less piling on new restrictions.

Of course he will. Did you think he was not going to seek retribution for his stumbles on health care?

Grandstanding. Not even Obama is arrogant and stupid enough
to think this can be done.
