If Huckabee had a single patriotic bone in his body he’d proclaim that he’s out of it.

That would leave RINO Romney alone against the conservatives and we could take him out.

But just like last time, Huckabee’s going to stay in to confuse the situation.

And I have to say, any conservative who thinks Huckabee is one of us is extremely and utterly confused.

Thanks, Huckabee. Thanks for letting your ego help wreck the conservative movement.

Yes, but the "Left" you are talking about is the Establishment GOP, both at the national and state levels that have made the primary process more a coronation that a real nominating process.

Screw the GOP!!!!!!!

Nothing more than the MSM trying to spin for a terrible weak GOP candiate in 12 - Huckabee and Romney are possibly the only two candidates that could actually be worse than John McCain......Both are the worst type for the GOP on a national level.

John Thune, is going to be the man. Or NJ Governor.

They've never stopped pimping him since the last election. Romney is their pick because of his pro-gay actions as Mass governor.

Public Policy Polling (PPP) is an American, Democratic Party-affiliated polling firm based in Raleigh, North Carolina. PPP was founded in 2001 by businessman and Democratic pollster Dean Debnam.

It polled a whole 400 likely Republican primary voters.

I didn’t bother to open the pdf to check the details.

Here's a link to the original release by Public Policy Polling (PDF file):

http://www.publicpolicypolling.com/pdf/PPP_Release_NMTX_226.pdf

It also includes a New Mexico poll, which went Romney 33%, Palin 32%, Huckabee 18%.

The only other choice in either poll was "Undecided". The Texas poll did, however, include a favorability question for Ron Paul, which was 38% Favorable, 30% Unfavorable, and 32% Not Sure.

For whoever's interested, the Texas poll also included a question on the Senate candidates: Perry 40%, Hutchinson 31%, and Medina 20%.

It should be noted that Public Policy Polling is a North Carolina firm whose clientele almost exclusively consists of Democrat candidates, Democrat-leaning interest groups, and the NC Democrat Party itself. While I don't think they fudged the results, I do think their bias might have contributed to the fact that they only included three potential candidates who (at least in their eyes) have almost no chance of beating Obama.

4 or 5 months ago, UT/Austin did a poll of Romney vs. Obama. Obama was ahead by 2 points with a large number undecided (about 30%).

If Romney is the nominee, Texas is in play for Obama IMO. Hundreds of thousands of conservatives will stay home or vote 3rd party.

If you go to Public Policy Polling’s blog spot, the pollster talks about ways to beat Richard Burr and spins any good polling news for Burr as meaningless. I suspect they do let their liberal bias get in the way of its polling methods.
