Police say that the the man and his wife were in their home at about 10 AM when they heard a noise outside. Knowing that there had been a recent burglary next door, the homeowner reportedly grabbed his handgun, and went downstairs, where he found a burglar attempting to jimmy open the back door. The homeowner is said to have displayed his handgun and issued a verbal warning, which reportedly sent the intruder fleeing. The homeowner is said to have fired a few "warning shots" at the burglar's pickup truck as he fled, and police say that the truck had been reported stolen. New York - where self defense is a much more serious crime than burgulary or assault - just ask Bernard Goetz
New York? Is that where the “father” said he’d rather bury his child than defend her with a GUN?
No I think that was Massachussetts - same sort of people there though. For that matter we have more than our share of them here too.
My 12 gauge loaded with rocksalt will kiss a burglar`s behind goodbye.
An Uzi with 9mil is better.
Shooting at the truck was a bad idea and could have gotten the homeowner in trouble. I’m glad it didn’t...
