LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Arkansas Lt. Gov. Bill Halter said Monday he's seeking the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate seat held by Sen. Blanche Lincoln, challenging the two-term incumbent as she faces the toughest fight of her political career.
Halter's spokesman provided a statement Monday in which the one-term lieutenant governor said he would file papers this week for the U.S. Senate. Halter is the only Democrat to formally announce a challenge to Lincoln, a moderate who has been under pressure in Washington to support President Barack Obama's health care overhaul.

I noticed that, too.
Political PING?
I had to google to find it’s in May, but the Dem party site doesn’t mention which day in may, and I’m not interested enough to look further.
MSNBC calls Lincoln a “moderate”, of course. They don’t bother to reveal the number of times she voted AGAINST Hussein!! Zip, naturally.
If Halter gets past Lincoln, he’ll probably beat Boozman, who will probably be the Republican nominee.
$$$$$$$$$
Halter is well to the left of Lincoln, and that won’t fly in a year like this in a general election.
My doubts about Boozman winning statewide are legitimate-he’s not exactly real charismatic. What sells in the 3rd District doesn’t usually fly in Little Rock or Pine Bluff...
I know what you’re saying, but AR is changing. The state, by all accounts, should’ve been further along in realigning, had it not been for the corrosive effects of Huckster in shrinking the party.
Tim Hutchinson also hailed from the 3rd and pulled out a win, and that was 14 years ago. Halter will have to run a very ugly campaign against Lincoln (presuming she doesn’t exit of her own accord), and in doing so, will clearly define himself to her left (and she’s already too liberal for AR). Whomever wins will emerge damaged, and I think Boozman will benefit as a result.
Gentlemen, start your popcorn poppers!
It could be that Lincoln will be retiring after all and that Halter just wants to position himself.
Halter is moonbat lunatic. They will not send him to the Senate this year. If he even gets past the primary. Obamaism isn’t flying in Arkansas, anywhere except the black precincts.
Ping
Halter seems to be more populist so far. GOP had best look out.
parsy, who recalls George Wallace
