Four Muslims Discharged Over Fort Jackson Threats, Probe Continues
The Jawa Report ^ | March 1, 2010 | Rusty "Asadullah Alshishani"

Posted on 03/01/2010 11:42:29 AM PST by Dinah Lord

If there was nothing to the allegations, then why were four of the five Muslim soldiers discharged? It seems to me that the earliest reports were wrong that the five Muslims were plotting to poison Fort Jackson's food supply. But later reports that there were nothing to the allegations were also clarified when we learned that the investigation was not into a plot but over comments about poisoning the food.

Thanks. We figured that there was a cover-up, but this certainly makes it more definite.

So, they just let them out where they can murder civilians instead of troops? Or even plot to murder troops from outside the base, as other terrorists have done?

Interesting to note that this report came out of Rep Joe "You Lie!" Wilson's office...

Five Muslim soldiers under investigation after allegations surfaced of a potential plot to poison the food supply at Fort Jackson have been removed from active duty according to Rep. Joe Wilson's office.

I guess it’s safe to assume that they have no idea where these guys are now that they were released.

I hope the Muslims have changed their minds about a terrorist attack.

That hope and change crap again.

That is very disturbing to hear, elcid970. I'm wondering what was on their computers that was so interesting that they have been turned over to the FBI.

(Thank you for your service.)

Americans today can't seem to understand why Japanese on American soil were rounded up into camps during WWII.

Posting the original excerpt with the html links:

But later reports that there were nothing to the allegations were also clarified when we learned that the investigation was not into a plot but over comments about poisoning the food.

Plus here's a little more:

Early reports had alleged that some of the accused were in contact with some Virginia North Carolina men who have been indicted on terror related charges. If the four were in contact with some would-be jihadis, then this alone is a serious charge. Especially after Fort Hood and Nidal Hasan.

Interesting article

Additional details from this 2/25 report:

Five soldiers were detained before Christmas of last year after allegations surfaced of "potential verbal threats against fellow soldiers," according to Fort Jackson Deputy Public Affairs Officer Patrick Jones.

Jones said on Thursday that one of those soldiers is still under investigation, though "there is still no credible evidence to substantiate the allegations," Jones cautioned.

The exact nature of the supposed threat is unclear, and it's also not known who actually made the allegations against the five soldiers.

Fort Jackson officials stressed that no soldiers were actually poisoned, and said no one at the post was ever in danger.

The Army investigation is being handled by Criminal Investigative Division, which has not disclosed where the soldier is, nor if he remains in detention.

Interesting, it seems to me that if a person who fits the terrorist profile makes a threat, people are in danger.

So these guys are off the radar now, free to continue to plot terrorist acts?

Oh that's nice

From the link at this related thread.:

"The initial investigation confirmed that (the five soldiers) had not made any effort to poison food and that allegations about their disloyalty were inaccurate," Wilson told McClatchy Newspapers. "There was further investigation. I have not received any word of it being over. I think they would tell me."

Wilson also disclosed for the first time that four of the Muslim soldiers had been "administratively separated" from the Army, a military designation that means they were discharged with neither honorable nor dishonorable status.

"If you don't succeed (in the Army), you can be administratively discharged without a court-martial and without a full military review," Wilson said.

The fifth soldier was removed from active duty and returned to the National Guard's jurisdiction in Virginia, Wilson said.

Congressional officials said three of the five soldiers had been sent to the National Guard unit based in the District of Columbia.

Also interesting:

"They were stealing from other soldiers," Wilson said. "It was discovered that there had been petty crimes that were not related to the original allegations of food poisoning or disloyalty. The individuals were simply not trustworthy."

Just another thought...

If they were stealing from other soldiers why weren’t they given a dishonorable discharge????

Curiouser and curiouser....

Unconfirmed initial reports said three of the Jackson Five were sent back to National Guard units, one was to be discharged under Chapter 5-17, AR 635-200, and one was being held until the investigation was over. Reports also indicated two of the suspects had stolen military ID cards and cell phones from other soldiers. No further reference was made to these reports by the Army except to say four of the five recruits were returned to their country of origin. The country was not named.

WTF?

About those cell phones (from the pdf found by FReeper Veni Vidi Vici at the US's Iraq embassy site)

"Soldiers are not allowed to have cellular phones while in a training environment. All three locations (ESL Training, BCT and AIT)are considered training environments."

BCT (Basic Combat Training) and AIT (Advanced individual Training) takes place at Ft Jackson. (or did until it was recently moved to Fort Huachaca.*

*"Earlier, spokesman Jones said the sudden and silent transfer of Lima Nine headquarters from Fort Jackson to Fort Huachuca, Arizona, had absolutely nothing to do with the Jackson Five investigation."

Of course not.

All 5 were US citizens from northern Virginia (a hotbed of Islamic radicalism). http://www.wistv.com/Global/story.asp?S=12059696 The second district representative says all five men were U.S. citizens from northern Virginia enrolled in "Lima 09," a program started to help train Farsi and Arabic speakers. Officials say the soldiers were not removed because of the allegations, but for instances of minor theft. An investigation continues into other possible crimes relating to information found on their laptops, Wilson said. The laptops were turned over to the FBI for analysis.

from the link in post no. 36:

DAILY CALLER.com - Opinion: "GEN. CASE, REP. WILSON AND THE JACKSON FIVE" by Chet Nagle (SNIPPET: "Earlier, spokesman Jones said the sudden and silent transfer of Lima Nine headquarters from Fort Jackson to Fort Huachuca, Arizona, had absolutely nothing to do with the Jackson Five investigation. Then there is Rep. Wilson of President Obama "you lie" fame, a member of the House Armed Services Committee. He told McClatchy Newspapers on Feb. 26 that laptops and cell phones of the Jackson Five had been seized, even though the recruits were discharged for minor thefts. FBI forensic experts are working with CID, but he could not understand why, since original allegations had been dropped.") (March 1, 2010, 12:00 am)
