I don't know him, but I do know some of his work - namely, "The Jesus Family Tomb", which was ridiculous. Hardly a piece of serious scholarship and more closely resembling a Dan Brown novel. He clearly had a point of view in that book, and it wasn't conservative.
Moreover, Pellegrino served as an adviser to Avatar. I would be curious about the subject matter he advised Cameron on. Was it the part that said Marines are blood thirsty killers, or that all corporations are bad? Again, another project that hardly involves anything remotely conservative in nature.
I haven't read the book - yet - but if James Cameron was eager to turn it into a movie of some kind, I can only anticipate it would be some kind of leftist's drivel, as that's the only kind of movie Cameron seems to make today.
I don’t know Cameron and haven’t seen Avatar. From what I’ve heard it sounds like typical Hollywood BS. But Pellegrino didn’t write the script. I wasn’t interested in THE JESUS TOMB, but I have enjoyed Charlie’s books about Thera, etc. The point is that, despite these other connections, I know that Pellegrino, as he put it to me, “burned his liberal card” on 9/11/01. His background is a bit more complicated than it might appear on the surface.
Ok, I totally do not understand the bit about Marines. Hard work would make even me thirsty. HOWEVER, all corporations are bad? I suppose capitalist corporations appear "bad" from a communist point of view... So, it you think corporations are "bad" it appears that you are a communist. Ok, I can do that.
