They should send Obama a bill. I love it how Bush vacationed at his own home in Texas, but Obama vacations like a king.

Those 30 mile radius presidential restricted areas are a bitch when you’re attempting to run a class B airport with international arrivals and several class c airports near that “B” umbrella... not to mention that being islands they rely on air transport for normal movement just as much as they do in Alaska. Obama just doesn’t understand what he’s doing to people.

I’d bet he full well understands what he is doing to people. He doesn’t care because he is the big kahuna. He and his wife believe that they are royalty.

See the mentality of people of Hawaii

Hawaiians are among the most those with the most entrenched entitlement mentality in the country. True story from Hawaii. In the early 90's a sugar refinery on the southern end of the big island was feeling the pinch of competiton, so it opened its books to the workers (and BTW it was the ONLY employer in the area) and showed that if it didn't cut wages by 15% it would have to shut down because it was operating at a loss. It put the wage cut to the workers as a vote, and they overwhelmingly voted not to accept the wage cut. The refinery immediately shut down and the whole area went on welfare. They've been on welfare ever since except for one other incident.

The second time they had a chance to make something of themselves, a consortium of Japanese businessmen bought a large section of the area including parts of the former sugar plantation for about $20 million with a plan to develop it with hotels and condos kind of like Honolulu. The locals took their welfare money and hired a bunch of lawyers to stop the development. Eventually the japanese gave up and sold out to another group at ten cents on the dollar and now the area has no tourist business and no industry and the lazy a-holes are still on the dole. This is the typical Hawaiian mentality. (Except for the fact that Hawaiians must be mostly thieves, because everywhere you go there are signs to leave nothing of value in your car.)

Then of course there is the special 10% haole tax that never seems to apply to those of polynesian or japanese descent.

The only Hawaiians that want tourists are those that have jobs. The rest of the locals are hostile to tourists.

And hostile to military and hostile to transferred workers and hostile to old f@rts retiring there (though why anyone not insane would want to retire there is something I never could understand), etc.

Yes, it’s a nice place to visit but I wouldn’t want to live there.
