I suppose Obama will claim prior election to office
certifies his claim to citizenship, but what if he
has to certify AGAIN?

Does South Carolina HB3389 answer the question of what a natural born citizen means in respect to the bill?

I would LOVE to see that.

I doubt it, since he is acting president and never met the requirements for office, he is a usurper (used to describe either an illegitimate or controversial claimant to power).

The socialist is a usurper, but that doesn’t have to be proven for this to help. If the requirement to be on a state’s ballot is proof of natural born citizenship, then he cannot be listed for reelection in that state. I doubt that enough Obama voters can spell the socialist’s name consistently enough for him to carry any state in which he’s not listed for them. In addition, even if it’s states that he loses by default, he’s going to look pretty bad to the independent voters in swing states if he’s unwilling to provide a BC to get on the ballot in these states.

Natural born citizen? check.
Thirty-five years old? check.
14 years a resident? check.

All checks out. Now, of course, the experience to be president is lacking, but he certainly meets all of the requirements.

Wow, if you really buy that, then I’ve got some ocean-front property to sell you. The fact is that these are silly legislative responses to a fictional problem that was imagined out of whole cloth by liberal radical Phillip J. Berg and PUMA Clintonistas. The majority of people find this nonsense absurd. It does nothing to damage Obama and everything to damage the people who are against Obama’s policies.

I would love to see this type of legislation pass in time for the 2012 election, only to have 0bama submit the COLB from Hawaii and then see that accepted by each State as meeting their eligibility requirements (it being the only proof of birth that Hawaii issues these days); only to watch the birther's heads explode!

And yet again, a Birther paints a person who is capable of rational thought as an O-bot, when the whole Birther movement started not on the right, but on the Left.

I’ll attempt to explain it in a way even a Birther can understand (which is pretty tough):

Postage stamp: $.44.
Copy of a birth certificate: $20
Seeing your opponents branded as irrational conspiracy-theorists while you push insane and costly measures thru a rubber-stamp Congress: Priceless.

For the rest of us, there’s reality. You’re welcome to join whenever you want.

Sadly, you are right. Just over half of our population finds the Constitution absurd. I think ALL candidates for the White House should have to release their birth certificates as a matter of law and prove that they are natural born citizens of the United States, that they have lived in this country for at least 14 years, and that they are at least 35 years old. That's not a conspiracy theory - it's the law of the land (or ti should be). A similar law should apply to candidates for the House or the Senate. The Constitution is not a joke and should not be treated as such.

It's not their place to do so, and if they tried then it'd open their law up for legal challenges. But requiring a birth certificate would be a simple requirement and one which would be hard to throw out in court.

I have upset the hive, I see. Thousands of collective posts on several conservative websites, going head to head against some pretty insane liberals on some less-than-conservative sites, all going on ten plus years, and some conspiracy nut thinks that I’m going to be intimidated by his inept attempt to marginalize true conservatives. I am more of a conservative than you’ll ever be.

I have for years seen far left extremists lie and smear President Bush by implying that he was behind 9/11. They used fanciful theories to explain that which they could not wrap their little heads around, the fact that we were attacked by 19 insane Muslims. I laughed and had fun at the expense of the few who could not get beyond their irrational hatred of President Bush. Those same people, starting with Berg, are now pretending to be concerned about a stupid little birth certificate, when what they’re really concerned with is making sure that conservatives are made to look bad, or at least give the talking heads on MSNBC and CNN a reason to say that both “extremes” are the same.

I will absolutely hold anyone who claims to be on my side to a higher standard than I would someone on the Left, because I believe that conservatism is inherently better than liberalism. So either put up the evidence that Obama is not a natural born citizen or admit that you have none and that the whole thing is a political ploy.

When you say something like this, it ensures that no one who has any sense of reason will read beyond that sentence. I made the point that Birtherism is absurd. You, out of whatever desire you have to miss the point, equate Birtherism with constitutionalism. The two couldn't be any more different, even if Birthers do attempt to use the constitution as a tool to make actual conservatives out to be whackjobs.

Really? More than an out-of-context soundbite? Let’s see it! Why isn’t every well-known conservative and Clintonista alike (because if the One isn’t eligible, then she would have been the Dem nominee) shouting this from the mountaintop? Why isn’t it before the US Supreme Court this very instant? Where are the Congressional investigations? I’ll tell you why, becasue there has never been one shred of indisputable evidence that the One was born anywhere other than Hawaii.

First off — as a court of venue, you are what is known as “Moot”. Secondly, why is the standard to have a hearing on the matter “indisputable” proof?

That is too high a standard. Why do you hold that it is such a awfully strong presumptive fact that there are no legitimate questions of Obama’s eligibility that ONLY the most sure, indisputable evidence must be first presented to have a hearing to discover his actual status?

And this is the extent of the Birther “evidence”. I am no birther - but exactly what is the problem with a State requiring a candidate to demonstrate he is qualified before putting him on the ballot? Even a twenty-one year old has to show proof before buying beer. Surely, asking the President to show proof of constitutional eligibility is not too much

Because if questions don’t have any ground behind them, then they weren’t worth asking in the first place. A lot of people have what they perceive as being very legitimate questions about the earth being flat, but I can go outside and observe nature and the sky and discern that they’re either poorly educated or just nuts. Similarly, I can take one look at the only bit of evidence that’s of been presented, the short form certificate and conclude that you are either willingly blind or just insance.

One piece of evidence? You are a loon. There are thousands of pieces of evidence of a massive fraud — INCLUDING the facts of to whom that purported certificate was provided, and the amazing fact that no one else, no reputable document examiner has been allowed to see it since.

Let’s walk outside together, walk down the steps of your porch. Look around — what do you see? Any sign that the ground you stand on is the surface of a sphere? What sign is that? Tell us!

I stopped loooong ago worrying about what the mainstream media thinks about conservatives. They will hate us and mock us not matter what we do.

They mocked us about Lewinsky,...and they still mocked after the blue dress.

Conservatives MUST not govern our action based on the reaction of the mainstream media.
