President Obama Digs In to a Southern-Style Lunch, Says He Doesn't Want 'Lectures' About Cholesterol

Just days after his doctors expressed concerns about his rising cholesterol levels, President Obama dropped by a family-style restaurant for an authentic – but perhaps not so healthy – Southern style lunch in Savannah, Georgia.

In between events, Obama paid a visit to Mrs. Wilkes' Dining Room and made it clear he did not want to hear it from the press about his choice of lunch.

“I don’t want any lectures about my cholesterol,” Obama said. “Don’t tell Michelle.”

In Boston no less, I had a wonderful southern fried chicken, fried grits, and collards dinner. I was skeptical and the chicken wasn’t the same as my mothers but still very good. And the mashed potatoes were also good. If you’re ever in Boston on Sunday night, go to the Plough and Stars, get there early (5) for the life music, and stay for the chicken and they also have Speckled Hen on draught. Yum.

Same here. I don't want the government lecturing me about how to live my life, what I eat, whether the restaurant I like uses trans fat, what car I can drive, etc. etc.

Problem is, the government doesn't even bother to lecture anymore, they just make laws to force us to do what they think is for our own good. FUBO.

I was today absolutely craving a dish that is largely unknown outside of San Francisco and Marin called ‘Joe’s Special’.
I grew up with it- my father used to make it, and very well.
It’s *very* rich food. :-)
