Mourning begins for SoCal teen after body is found (when will we learn)

The Lake Elsinore man pleaded guilty in May 2000 to molesting a 13-year-old female neighbor and served five years of a six-year prison term. Prosecutors said he lured the victim to his home with an offer to watch "Patch Adams," a 1998 movie starring Robin Williams. The girl was beaten before escaping and running to a neighbor. Gardner "never expressed one scintilla of remorse for his attack upon the victim" despite overwhelming evidence, prosecutors wrote in a sentencing memo.

He had faced a maximum of nearly 11 years in prison under terms of a plea agreement but prosecutors urged six years. A psychiatrist who interviewed Gardner, Dr. Matthew Carroll, wanted a stiffer punishment, saying in court documents that he was a "continued danger to underage girls in the community."

Gardner was on parole for three years, until September 2008, state records show.

San Diego police say Gardner is positively linked to an assault on a 22-year-old Colorado Springs, Colo., woman who managed to fend off her attacker on Dec. 27 in Rancho Bernardo Community Park on the northern edge of San Diego, where King's 1994 BMW was found with her belongings inside.

Our society’s response to being tough on crime, is a plea bargain and a tight GPS ankle bracelet.

The uniqueness of a serial rapist/predator, is that they spread out their crimes in both time and location so that the public will never really get a chance to galvanize their anger,...and when they do,..Jersey Shore comes on and we laugh at Snookie’s antics. The ability to care is bankrupt without the coin to act.

The death penalty for heinous crimes is the only answer.

“The problem started when we changed it from ‘punishment’ to ‘rehabilitation’.”

I must disagree. In this case, the perp was clearly NOT rehabilitated, but he HAD SERVED his punishment.

The problem stems from two facts. One, we authorize our government to punish people for what they have done, not for what they might do in the future. Two, some or even most people cannot be rehabilitated.

That doesn’t “fix” anything. If nothing else, it makes them more violent because there is no climatic conclusion to their sadistic tendencies.

The only “fix” is a needle and a coffin.

“We need to start arming our daughters when they reach 18, teach them to shoot and learn firearm safety. Kill the damn bastards in self-defense.”

I trained all of my children to use firearms at age 12. Prior to that, they all had several years of following me to the range to absorb the very serious lessons on safety. My daughter regularly beats me in target practice, and I have no problem with that. There is no remorse in our household for the termination of anyone posing a threat. I would be extremely angry at anyone that would endanger my family, and therefore require me to stop them by any means necessary, but I would do it without regret.

That was the founding fathers’ opinion. It was an unreasonable expectation that the taxpayers should subsidize these people’s existence for life.

And it was considered cruel to keep a man locked up for the rest of his life in prison.

I know someone who did a detailed study of these predators and the results were shocking. They did the study for a publication, but the topic was so overwhelmingly depressing and since there was NO evidence that any rehab worked the publication refused to publish the paper.
These perverts are not single-time abusers or murderers. They do it over and over and over.

REHAB DOESN’T WORK!!!! Castration will!!!!!!!!!

Castration either doesn't mean what you think it means or it won't do what you think it will.

Snipping off the testicles will remove any chance of procreation but it won't stop the urges to rape and it won't prevent penetration because it won't stop an erection.

Even if you did pull a John Wayne BOBBIT, the urges to rape and maim will continue with inanimate objects. The only sure way to prevent this kind of sicko from ever again committing such an atrocity is a bullet to the brain.

We are trying to ‘fix’ these people.... and it DOES NOT WORK.

I know a certain "fix" that would...permanently...................

I once saw a Brinks Home Security commercial. These young people are having a evening party,..some unknown guy hits on the young host,..and then everyone leaves. The girl is locking up the house and sets the alarm. Stranger dude comes back and kicks in the door. Alarm comes on and girl gets phone call that police are on the way.

I think the NRA ought to do a take on this commercial....but...when the door is kicked open, the alarm goes off,..and her .38 goes off...perp goes down. She then tells Onstar or whomever the hell that they need to also send a morgue van.

It is repulsive that America’s leaders target so-called “junk food” more fervently than they do these filthy sub-humans.

Which is more harmful to children?

If I were the father of the girl, this POS would be a dead man walking if he were ever released from prison. 20 years, 50 years, I would wait. His first breath of air outside the prison walls would be his last.

We’ve got a level III running around Duluth and nobody knows where he is. He can’t register the address where he is living because he is HOMELESS....

They knew he would be homeless, but they released him anyway.......

These perverts are not single-time abusers or murderers. They do it over and over and over.

Worse, for each and everytime they've been caught, they have committed the crime at least 100 other times without being caught.

Does that include for serial rapists, like Bill Clinton, who target adults?

I'd make the donation, happily.
