Authorities say a homemade bomb was detonated in the hallway of a Detroit school and that a student has been taken into custody.
Detroit Police spokesman John Roach says no one was injured in the Wednesday morning blast at the Phoenix Multicultural Academy on the city's southwest side.

Whisked away from the Phoenix Multicultural Academy to the Roberto Clemente Learning Academy. Do these Detroit kids even have a chance?
That could be satire, but isn’t. “Students (from the Multicultural Academy) were transferred to the nearby Roberto Clemente Learning Academy,” which, I assume, is mono-Puerto-Rican-cultural. It does not benefit society as a whole for this student’s identity to be concealed. We are entitled to know what kind of homicidal maniacs are in our midst, and in our children’s midst.
F.Y.I. after I wrote my comment, I went online to see what they meant by “multicultural”. According to the website, they cater to Latino students. Having said that, why won’t they release the name?

The Multicultural Academy is on Lane Street (Springwells/W. Vernor). This is very close to the east side of Dearborn, Michigan - an Arab concleave. I would guess a mix of Arabs,Latino and other non-white minorities.
Might be because of his age, however good guess also.

True, and that fact reflects the harsh reality that with a vehicle, one can leave Detroit.
