LUBBOCK Candidate for the Republican nomination for Texas governor Debra Medina, in a Thursday appearance on radio show Pratt on Texas, refused to commit to support the Republican nominee for Texas governor if she is not the Partys nominee. Medina hinted at there being other candidates on the November ballot she might support.
Pratt on Texas host Robert Pratt asked Ms. Medina, the former Wharton County chairwoman, "If you run through this election and are not the nominee of the Republican Party, will you wholeheartedly endorse and support the Partys nominee or is there some threat of some type of outside movement there?"
"I think its premature to be talking about that," replied Medina.
"So in other words, even though we do know that the nominee will be one of three people, Rick Perry, Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, or yourself, youre not willing to go on the record saying that if youre not the nominee you would support the Partys ticket?," Pratt asked.
"Absolutely not," Medina said.
"Surely you understand that there may be other candidates besides a Republican and a Democrat on the ballot come next November," she added later.
"Ms. Medina wants Republican voters to trust her with their vote but, she isnt willing to trust the judgment of those same voters if they should nominate someone other than her," Pratt told his audience after the interview.

Is this the one Beck torpedoed? no wonder...
Yup Paulinistas and 9/11 Truthers -—why am I not surprized???
She torpedoed herself, Beck didn’t do it. She repeated the same truther line in at least two other interviews that week so it is hard to blame it on Beck.
Glenn Beck gave this silly woman every chance to recant her “truther” position, and, lo and behold!, she didn’t.
No. She torpedoed herself.
Never thought that the TX GOP would make CA GOP look nuttier yet here is a prime example..
It was a softball question that could have been answered with one syllable- “No”. She gave that same politician type run-around answer you hear from Alex Jones or Jesse Ventura.
We didn’t ask for her.. Heck, before this her only claim to fame was suing the Texas GOP.
I do not think Medina is in a postion to suggest anything now.
So when will this RINO give back the money to the party she tried to hijack?
Not only that, but Beck is hardly an apologist for the Republican establishment.
No, this woman is a troublemaker. It’s becoming more and more apparent.
Good point, he seems to call for a third party in every other thought.
I was going to vote for her just to spook Perry a little bit but I didn’t like her answers to FreeMarket survey.
Losertarians work 234/7 to split the GOP vote and elect democrats.
So what? There are tons of folks here that did not vote for McCain, and never would, myself included.
I heard the Beck interview and she does not handle herself well.
The woman is a loose cannon and does not demonstrate common sense. Very disturbing.
The left and MSM will paint her as the “Tea Party” candidate.
We don’t need this.
I would distance myself from the “GOP”, too. It just may be the exact right time for a third party. That is if most voting Republicans still have a viable thought system.
It just may b the right time to divide the true Conservative patiots from the Politcally Correct Progressives in the Republican Party. A third party would also include Independents, Libertarians and conservative Democrats. I believe those people are growing faster than the”GOOP” is growing. God bless the patriots who will stand up and fight for what is left of our great country.
And true to form, yesterday she apparently said that if Perry didn’t get 50%, the runoff would be between Perry and her since KBH conceded the race. This even though she came in third. Total loon.
It’s yet to be seen if Perry can be trusted and the GOP...please.
I’m just saying, “don’t get too damn happy”.
Don’t go away mad, just go away.
The GOP owns your vote. Do not forget it.
They will tell you in one way or another that you owe them your vote no matter who they run.
They will mock you, badger you, attempt to coerce you, then beg you for your vote.
Right before they remind you that they own your vote.
Well said. We can’t trust the GOP as far as we can throw them.
yes oops- I agree with that- Beck is NOT to blame for anything- she sounds like a ditz, glad we dont have her
The government is much too stupid to pull off 9-11 even if it wanted to.
Plus, how does she explain jihad?
I went a step further and saved my vote for the general.
Oh great nothing like working for the dems! Fools!
Coalitions govern. Idealogues remain on the fringes.
Reagan understood this.
We already have 49 of them.
I told you.
I don't think she really said that, more of an issue injected by the interviewer.
And no I didn't vote for her.
You’re not a Republican, if you lose in the primary and fail to support the team...
Medina is having her Dede moment. Good things TX GOPers didn’t give her a chance.
Well, if the government hadnt blown up the World Trade center, maybe she could support the Republican.
Sorry, Eagle Eye. The GOP does not own me in any way, shap or form. A true conservative will not compromise. You put sterling in with plate and the sterling will become contaminated every time.
"Absolutely not," Medina said.
She is a crazypants
It just may b the right time to divide the true Conservative patiots from the Politcally Correct Progressives in the Republican Party and create permanent majorities of Socialists.
No he most certainly did not. Beck went on a rant at the end of the interview and didn't stop for weeks. Glenn himself even said last September on his show that he still had questions about 9/11, so he is a hypocrite for doing this. What Medina said on his show was that there were some legitimate questions about 9/11 left unanswered and that everyone has the right to question the Government. Period. She never said she was a truther in that interview, not even close.
I also agree with the premise that there are still questions...certainly not MIHOP or LIHOP questions...but there clearly was an orchestrated effort on the part of certain entities in the Government to lie and obstruct the investigation to cover up their own incompetence as has been publicly admitted by the 911 investigators, but that does not make me a "truther" by any stretch of the imagination.
I am sick to death of the "well if she didn't outright deny it then it must be true" meme. I was severely disappointed in Glenn, as I am with many of you who piled on.
See we have the usual Paul and 3rd Party types sprinted to this thread. She said it last night that she was considering a 3rd party run if she lost.
When are some of these people going to realize that a lot of states including mine would have loved to have a Rick Perry for the last 7+ years instead of the Rat Doofus we have in Oklahoma.
Some Texans on here don’t understand how good they have it or just like to complain all the time because no one is ever good enough for them.
Now is the time to make sure that on November 2nd White gets sent back to Houston by Gov Perry!
Ah yes. The answer to all our prayers. Democrats and Republicans are all and equally bad. Beck has said so, well. it must be true. Not one scintilla of difference at all, not now not ever! They all vote the same and they are all progressives. So what better time for the answer to all our political problems- a third party. Clean as the wind driven snow. And, a time tested winning political strategy.
Everything has changed now. The entire nation has suddenly turned off American Idol and is engaged. They fully understand the virtue of an ideologically pure conservative movement. Now, Vermonters and Oklahomans will join forces and thrust the third party movement into an insurmountable lead! This will be mere childs play to get the third party infrastructure well in place in only a couple of months. And of course, the third party will sweep in to take control of the Senate and House in the 2010 election.
Third party. Yes, indeed the debate is over.
Ronpaul is as Ronpaul does.
Yup, such a loon she may just crack up before this is over. And true to form, JD Wells is on KLIF as I write, encouraging the Medinanuts not to vote for Perry. They are calling in, all saying they are going to vote for White now.
Absolutely! Because two years of total Democrat control over every branch of government hasn't been nearly enough!
PARTIAL TRANSCRIPT OF INTERVIEW IS BELOW:
Pratt: "If you run through this election and are not the nominee of the Republican Party, will you wholeheartedly endorse and support the Partys nominee or is there some threat of some type of uh, outside movement there?"
Medina: "Ive said that I think its premature to be talking about that. We dont know who that nominee will be and my, my sights right now are fixed on being that nominee. Ill vote for, as I always do, the most conservative individual in the race when it comes to November."
Pratt: "So in other words, even though we do know that the nominee will be one of three people, Rick Perry, Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, or yourself, youre not willing to go on the record saying that if youre not the nominee you would support the Partys ticket."
Medina: "Absolutely not. I think thats whats gotten us into the trouble that were in. You guys give these incumbents a pass all the time by saying you know people just need to hold their nose and vote Republican in November and I think weve seen time and time again, unless Republicans are going to stand up and walk their talk, theyre going to get turned out of office. I wish wed start turning them out of office in the primary instead of waiting until the general election, but I think the people are speaking pretty loudly - the Party leadership and, and, and some others tend to not want to listen to the voice of the people. Im here fighting for the people so the last thing Im going to do is say is hold your nose in November. Im going to fight real hard to be that nominee and I will vote, as I have been for some years, for the most conservative candidate."
Pratt: "So, so the most conservative candidate of the 7 Democrats, you believe one of those is more conservative than one of the Republican candidates."
Medina: "Well surely you understand that there may be other candidates besides a Republican and a Democrat on the ballot come next November."
