A woman from Saudi Arabia has been sentenced to receive 300 lashes and 18 months in prison over complaints against court officials.

Sawsan Salim, who was taken to court last month in a court in Rass, in Qassim province, was sentenced after a judge decided that a petition she filed had contained 118 spurious complaints against officials, including the judges themselves, and she had appeared before him without a male guardian.

Salim also claimed officials had chided her for not being accompanied by a male guardian, as required under Islamic law, during her visits to their offices.

If the Islamics feel in the whipping mood they will find an excuse.

Did you know that in the Plymouth Colony that women had standing in court. They hadn’t gotten that in England at the time and that there were female business owners? (a few)
I’m not even sure women in England could own property at the time.

The system requires women to get permission from a male relative to go to classes, work, to travel, open a bank account or receive medical care. It also requires a woman to be accompanied by a male guardian to conduct public business.

Wahhabism, a Sunni Muslim movement, is the dominant form of Islam in Saudi Arabia, that doesn’t allow women to drive on public roads.

No, it’s happening in Saudi Arabia, but it was reported in a Malaysian news source. It says the judges in question were from Riyadh.

A Saudi woman who filed harassment claims in Saudi Arabia without being accompanied by a male relative .

Sawsan Salim lodged a series of complaints in 2007 at government offices and in court in the northern region of Qasim .

It sounded kind of weird that Malaysian courts would expect a woman to be accompanied by a guardian that, by the very nature of the case, would be from out of the country.

NOW is just a shill for the DNC.

NOW was very quiet when the Buffalo, NY area Muslim ( Bridges TV ) cut his wife’s heat off because she was trying to divorce him.

These are cave men. Neanderthals. They are living in the Stone Age, and their social conduct is incompatible with and unacceptable in the 21st century.

Any woman would be extremely lucky to survive 300 lashes without exanguinating and/or dying on the spot from the prolonged, aggravated shock.

I would have more inhibitions about shooting a chipmunk than one of these rabid assh*les.

300 lashes will kill her. Lord have mercy on her.

They will not be administered at the same time. Probably in sets of 20 with about a month or so to heal between "sets"...

Even so, not a good thing...

“Wahhabism, a Sunni Muslim movement, is the dominant form of Islam in Saudi Arabia, that doesn’t allow women to drive on public roads” — there’s a very logical reason for that. Wimmin ain’t allowed to show their eyes (as it would be too “enticing” and might make the sauds get off their lady camels or sheep) and we know that driving without seeing is dangerous. Logical, eh?
