Sarah Palin Meeting With Networks Over Alaska Documentary
Fox News ^ | Thursday March 4, 2010

Posted on 03/04/2010 7:31:39 AM PST by Bigtigermike

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is meeting with television executives this week to pitch a documentary about her home state, FOX has learned. Despite several media reports that the project was a reality show, Fox411 confirms that it is a documentary that will focus on the people, geography and wildlife of Alaska. A source close to Palin says the show has absolutely nothing to do with her personal life or her family. Palin is teaming up with “Survivor” creator Mark Burnett and Robert Barnett to produce the project, sources tell Fox. The group is in Los Angeles this week meeting with network heads about the documentary, and there is already “great interest” in it. In total, the group will meet with six different networks."

Just to repeat for all the Palin haters- this is NOT a Osbornes type reality show about her family, this is an Earth type show about Alaska that has nothing to do with her family. She is promoting the State she loves, not self-promotion.

If it’s a documentary then why is she contacting reality show producers? Surely she can find some people at National Geographic who have actually done documentaries before?

If it’s a documentary then why is she contacting reality show producers?

Because reality producers have a track record of producing shows that can hit a 20 share while National Geographic is lucky to get a MSNBC level viewership. Anyway, most of these producers cross over. The label 'reality show producer' is just something the article slaps on them- they are just producers. Mark Burnett has a very diverse portfolio.

I was shocked late last night when I read over 100 posts throwing Palin under the bus right here on FR. When I posted how ashamed I was of how FR's were portraying Palin and her sell out on some disinformation reality show; they didn't respond, but red neck did.

Maybe people will see how much freedom exists in Alaska and how much you all have lost in lower 48. It will scare you.

This would be a good move on her part. The conservation / wilderness angle will improve her likability with a lot of people who would otherwise be detractors.

Plus, it’s very mainstream.

I remember seeing a homemade documentary on Alaska...45 years ago...at our local gun club. Never knew Alaska wasn't frozen 365 until I saw that.

In school?? All I remember is "gold" and "Seward's Folly". The Folly thing was bashed into our heads...Whether it was political at the time, I don't really know.

So is he going to divide the state into tribes and have them go at each other in order to get his 20 share?

It will give her a positive and sympathetic forum - for a change, and will help her chances to run against the Obamamonster in 2012.

If we only had another 100 of her in Washington.....and in the political fray.

Actually - ONE would do - in the WH - and 50 more, one in each state as governor.

Then State's Rights would be reestablished, once again restricting DC to it's narrow rights - and we'd be a FREE Nation again for another 200 years.

The Governors Seat is where the real power is - IF it's enforced - OH -

AND

Make sure your sheriff's are pubbies AND that they understand THEY are the supreme law enforcement in their territory and can tell the Feds to go pound sand - get outta the state.

Get as many of these little booklet as you can and deliver them - face to face - to your local sheriffs. And write letters to the editors outlining the power of the Sheriff over the Feds.

We need to EDUCATE and REINFORCE State's Rights. It's the foundation of our FREEDOM. Cut the Feds off at the knee.

Sheriff Mack took the Feds - when they ordered him to enforce the Brady gun law in his state - all the way to the SCOTUS - and WON!

It's the LAW: Washington cannot enforce gun laws - or hardly any other laws - within your state! But the people and the Sheriffs have to KNOW this. And the people have to know this and insist the Sheriff protect them. Feds show up at your door - call the Sheriff.

GET THE WORD OUT to YOUR Sheriffs across your state! "NO SHERIFF LEFT BEHIND" (This program is growing - state by state. Check to see if YOUR state is safe. If not - MAKE IT SO.

It would be cool to have a reality show where you separated the US into 50 states and then vote out Hawaii.

And Winston Churchill apparently stole it from Mark Twain, who apparently stole it from Charles Spurgeon, who apparently stole it from “an old proverb.”

What’s your point? That good advice shouldn’t be said if someone else said it before you?

Not in this article but another one from a trade magazine described what was being pitched as an "Earth" type show that depicts Alaska's natural beauty and the people who live there.
