House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told reporters Thursday that she was not aware of any allegations of misconduct against Rep. Eric Massa, a day after the freshman Democrat from New York announced his retirement from Congress.
Massa told reporters Wednesday that he is retiring for health reasons. He has non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
But House Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer (D) said Wednesday night that Massa was also facing an ethics investigation over allegations of misconduct. Hoyer did not detail the allegations of misconduct but said his office became aware of them nearly a month ago.
Pelosi (D) said that she had not been informed.
"I asked my staff, I said, have there been any rumors about any of this before?" Pelosi said, referring to the harassment allegation. "There had been a rumor, but just that, no formal notification to our office that anything -- a one-, two-, three-person-removed rumor that had been reported to Mr. Hoyer's office that had been reported to my staff, which they didn't report to me, because, you know what? This is rumor city. Every single day, there are rumors. I have a job to do and not to be the receiver of rumors."

Well maybe she told the truth. She didn’t have to be told since she knew all along.
She just lies to the American people with a straight face. Guess botox works wonders for somethings.

Hoyer stepped in it. The whole Foley thing was garbage from the beginning. Hastert is not an employer and couldn’t fire Foley or any other duly elected representative. Moreover, it appears he took the appropriate action at each step of the way, with the information he had.
But Hoyer may have known too much without taking action. Pelosi was told this, which is why she’s doing the “I know nothing” defense.
Pelousi didn’t know about the waterboarding before she knew about the waterboarding. Now, she didn’t know about the ethics violations!! Pelousi appears to be asleep at the wheel. I come back to the question, “Who is the more foolish? The fool, or the fools who follow her?”
