Is the Southern Poverty Law Center Terrorizing Decent American Patriots?
Canada Free Press ^ | 3/5/10 | JB Williams

Posted on 03/05/2010 1:27:20 PM PST by Nachum

The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) is very influential in the current administration, almost single handedly responsible for defining “domestic terrorists” for the Department of Homeland Security and ratcheting up the racial rhetoric like never before in U.S. history, in the name of so-called “social justice.”

In the latest diatribe to come out of the Montgomery Alabama based mini-ACLU, titled - Rage on the Right - The Year in Hate and Extremism—the group lays out their justification for striking fear in the hearts of every Tea Party, 912 and town hall activist, angry over the federal governments mishandling of their country.

The SPLC report opens with—“The radical right caught fire last year, as broad-based populist anger at political, demographic and economic changes in America ignited an explosion of new extremist groups and activism across the nation.”

SPLC is casting its net very wide attacking anti-abortion groups, gun rights groups and others.

Below is a link to the SPLC page that has the list.

Active 'Patriot' Groups in the United States in 2009

If you notice they include the Constitution Party, John Birch Society and Oath Keepers among others.

The SPLC put a disclaimer on the list, "..Listing here does not imply that the groups themselves advocate or engage in violence or other criminal activities, or are racist..". Actually, I think they intend to imply that very thing and know very well that inclusion on their list will be taken that way by left wingers and people who do not know better. It is a very slimy tactic, but profitable for them.

I am sure I read somewhere that Morris Dees was involved with some pretty serious charges regarding either child sex or incest. Just can’t recall the details.

The sort of thing which would have destroyed a conservative but with liberals it is just a minor stumble.

Never heard that. His ex-wife did accuse him of being a wife beater during their divorce action. Maybe that's what your thinking of.

"It would be interesting to water board them, and found out who is calling their shots.."

If you do that, make sure that Potok dude gets some shampoo thrown in. Yuck!

But a sexy heroine shooting guns of varying calibers at liberal, communist, open-borders villains in a world destroyed by immigration and multiculturalism is an irresistible fantasy for the audience this genre of fiction attracts...

Turns out I agree with the SPLC on something! (I may have to rethink) Hey, Travis, how goes it?

Mr. Potock and his org are slandering us.

It's what they do for a living.

The SPLC is a fund-raising organization. That's its primary purpose -- ever since Morris Dees founded it.

Its donors are, to a man, left-wing moonbats. It is therefore incumbent on Mr. Potok to give them what they want.

Finding right-wing boogie-men is the way he keeps the money rolling in.

Mark Potok is in the same class as Alex Smith -- but on different sides of the fence.

Make no mistake folks, the SPLC is probably one of
the largest domestic intelligence gathering operations
in the country. Should Obama succeed in building his
own organs of internal security, the SPLC will play a
major role.

I wonder if you are a member of the SPLC trying to make him look like a victim? If not, it is not a good idea to make threats like that on public forums.

It goes okay. I’m writing my 4th novel, not related to the trilogy. The first 1/3 is up on my website.

Oh, cool! I knew you were working on something new and unrelated, but I didn’t know there was any available yet. I’ll be sure to read it. I just restarted FEtR today.

I know I know... But people can only take so much of this stuff without getting angry... By the way what I said is tame compared to how the left talks about conservatives...
