"The New Tone" worked out about as well as "HopenChange" is working. I did not know Rove was the einstein behind that concept. Changes my opinion of him. Anyway, it is good to see that whole nest of countryclubbers fade into the sunset. They have done enough to this country.

there is the seniority thing.

Senority.........

A quote:
She also noted then that she had given up a Senate Republican leadership spot, the fourth-highest in rank. “I have no doubt that a Republican will win my seat ... and I think it’s time for me to start something new,” she said. “I’ve given up my leadership position voluntarily, and you know I’m not going to stay and be a backbencher.”

They also brought us “compassionate conservatism”; if I even hear that term, my blood starts boiling.
You might as well start extolling the virtues of Karl Marx.

Don’t Mess With Texas, indeed. The new refrain needs to be Don’t Mess With the USA.

The “new-tone” 50.1% stategy was ok at the time considering that the other team was playing the same game and were destined to lose against Bush at it.

But you don't attack a lefty like Obama from the middle, you have to attack him from the right.

KBH is a first trimester abortion advocate. Perry and Medina are for live births.

The only time the repubs should reach across the isle is to bitch slap a lib or kick them in the balls. This should be applied to RINO’s like Grahm and McCain as well.

Excellent article. Nails it.

Correct. Kay Baily could have saved herself a lot of money she spent on research with the beltway boys. She could have called up just about any Texas Freeper and found out what the hell was the mood of Texas and its voters. We would have told her for free, but she would not have believed us.

No, it should be applied PARTICULARLY to RINOs like Graham and McCain repeatedly and with great enthusiasm

ps I have great respect for Captain McCain the Navy pilot. He was strong and loyal to our country and flag. He was singled out for particularly cruel treatment because of his father Admiral McCain. He acquitted himself with great honor and courage. Senator McCain is a pale shadow of the man that was imprisoned at the Hanoi Hilton.

The more I think about it, the more I’m inclined to think that Rick Perry could make a good president.

Because they're RINOs, moderates. limp-wrists, or whatever you care to call them.

The basic truth is that these people care far more about "getting elected" and "remaining in power" and being "liked" or "approved by the media." They basically have no real principles other than being in circles of power and to do so, to them means never, ever doing anything that "makes the other side mad" or gets "mean stories" written or spoken about them in the media.

After the 1994 election, House members invited Rush to come speak to them. In so doing, he warned them not to desire to be invited to "power-circle cocktail parties" or think that a reporter "liked them" after they gave an interview. He also warned them not to actually like Washington and desire to "fit in."

Rush warned them that liberal elite in DC will not ever "like" conservatives as we are an anathema to them. Conservatives, true conservatives desire to shrink government and as such, they want to do away with - big Government!

Lastly, those in the GOP or even elected wanma-bes, are not running for office because they actually desire to clean up Washington but to become part of it.

I was an Election Judge in Texas last Tuesday.

5 voters who came in to vote in the Republican Primary identified themselves as Democrats who wanted to vote against Rick Perry. That’s 5 out of 105 total at our polling location. 5% is a significant number.

How many more were Democrats but did not volunteer that information?
