what happens to the planned mission if soon after leaving port the female finds that she is pregnant?

If this whole thing goes through then there will be regulations to define proper actions. If I were to guess, it would be like any other serious illness of a crewmember that can't be treated on board.

Women have served on U.S. Navy surface ships since 1993 but do not serve on submarines.

I wonder how detailed the “Rules of Engagement” will be on such ships . . .
