Michigan, close enough.
My kids (who are teens now) BOTH started shooting BB guns and 22's at AGE FOUR. Today, my daughter is downright deadly accurate with her scoped .22, and my son is a threat to big game with his peep-sight 7.62. Oh, I forgot to tell you: they're homeschooled.
BUT--when I was in public high school (IN 1984, PEOPLE!), not only did my buddies and I take our shotguns to school in our trucks, the SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS (who was also my SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER)would come over and ask us how we had done hunting that morning before school, and where we were headed to hunt after school!
Where has my country gone?
