Yay Sandra Bullock won "Best Actress" for "The Blind Side!"

Hopefully Hollywood gets the memo of what kinds of movies we like seeing made!

I don’t care what the real numbers show, Inglorious Basterds saved or created 100 Academy Awards.

They had to wait to honor our wonderful military men and women after W left office. Gosh I hate them....THE pukes are trying REAL hard to make this war popular for their DEAR LEADER!! They really think we are SO stupid and blind! GOD BLESS W AND OUR MILITARY SOLDIERS!

Military is sexy now, it seems. About the only thing around Bummer that’s sexy. (Perverted is another question.)

I was very glad to see Sandra Bullock and Jeff Bridges win awards, however the Oscars were soooooooooooo boring I had a hard time staying awake!

"LOL @ James Cameron and his crappy movie."

To rub a little salt in the wound, the numbers are in for this weekend, and Avatar slipped to #2 for best opening weekend box-office for a 3D flick, with Alice pulling into the #1 slot as of tonight.

OMG! I didn’t realize the director of Hurt Locker, Kathryn Bigelow, is James Cameron’s ex-wife and the first woman to ever win an Oscar for “Best Director!”

WOW!

Notice there was not a peep about politics now that Obama is in the WH.

What do the Oscars have to do with movies that ordinary people like seeing made? Do you know how the Oscars are selected?

I thought Avatar was the Holy Grail and Mother Of All Movies. Kind of nice to see one about soldiers in Iraq win the Oscar. I haven’t seen neither of them. I don’t watch the Oscars either but I do read the news.

Is Hurt Locker nice to our military or is it anti-military?

All I’m saying is, it would be nice if more people of Oscar-caliber talent would choose to make movies of both artistic and moral integrity.

I never heard what position it takes. I read here once that it wasn’t very accurate. I don’t know. Almost bought a 2 pack at Walmart because the other video with it was about the two brothers who went to Iraq. One was a soldier, the other a journalist. Probably should have.

I have only heard of 2 or 3 of the movies, much less the nominees.

Please help me out. Was “Hurt Locker” a pro-military or anti-military film. I’ve heard it both ways.

I actually haven’t seen it, so I don’t know. I believe “pro.” Freepers who have posted on the matter say because Obama is currently “Commander in Chief” — Hollywood is acting friendlier to the war effort.

Wife and I just saw “Crazy Heart” for which Jeff Bridges won Best Actor.

Nicely done movie, produced by Robert Duvall, Jeff Bridges, and others.

Glad he won. He was first nominated for Best Supporting Actor in 1971, for “Last Picture Show.”

Liked the flick. He sang the music, as did Colin Farrell. Good music.

the movie treats the us and brits as the good guys.
shows how the terrorists used the innocent civilians.
its more of a character study and its not overtly political event.

frankly the sandra bullock movie took cheap shots at gw bush
