Tractor jihad resurfaces in Israel too...

An Arab farm tractor driver lightly wounded two Jewish motorists in Samaria Monday night in what apparently was an intentional attack. The driver plowed his tractor into one car and then struck a second vehicle 50 feet into a ravine. Two motorists were lightly wounded and treated at a nearby hospital.

An airmen in training at Sheppard Air Force Base was receiving treatment Monday after an incident occurred late Sunday evening outside a dormitory on base, according to the 82nd Training Wing Public Affairs office.

A call was received by security forces personnel about 9 p.m. Sunday that a man was outside the dorm with a weapon. After establishing a perimeter around the dorm, security forces personnel determined the weapon was a shotgun. They confronted the airman in training and he dropped the shotgun. The security forces personnel then took him into custody without incident.

No one was injured and no shots were fired, 82nd Training Wing Public Affairs Director George Woodward said in a news release issued Monday.

The airmen’s identity was not released, and the public affairs department said there would not be any more information to release about the incident. According to an Associated Press report, investigators on base told the public affairs department there was no further threat to base security in relation to the incident and the airman was to receive “psychological counceling and help.”

As part of standard procedure, the base was locked down shortly after security forces received the call. The gates were reopened Monday and training at the base was not affected by the incident, Woodward said.
