Roy Ashburn, the conservative California state senator who was arrested last week for drunk driving after reportedly leaving a gay bar, has acknowledged that he is gay.

CBS13 reports that Ashburn made the announcement to a radio station where he used to host a talk show.

"I'm gay," he told radio host Inga Barks, according to the Sacramento Bee. "Those are the words that have been so difficult for me for so long."

Political survival is impossible now. In an election year he cut his own throat.

“Can he? He’s a Colonel USAF reserve...wouldn’t DADT apply?”

I was wondering the same thing. The one good thing that comes out of these revelations is the clear shame that it brings. Notice that he isn’t denying the immorality of the behavior and in fact acknowledges that in his votes. So now the militant homosexuals can no longer deny that allowing gays in the military poses a danger. Ashburn himself was pursuing a young Latino on the night of his arrest. The boy was young enough to be his son so wouldn’t that qualify as intergenerational sex? Is this something we really want to introduce into the ranks of the military?

How is it that the two cents in your third paragraph help him? In the future, just put in a penny and leave out that part.

“But we do know it is a behavior, it is not a race or gender.”

Really? Do you know? Where’s your proof?

That’s the problem with most arguments nowadays. So little science, and no real research on what the actual cause is.

To be sure, committing the ACT is a choice of behavior. Believing you are a homosexual isn’t. Certainly, there are a great many pedophiles that have never acted on their impulses that would love to figure out why they feel that way, and what they could do to stop feeling that way.

When was the last time a Black person changed their race? Yet there are thousands of ex-homosexuals. It’s a behavior centered sexual lifestyle choice - no question about it.

Here’s a whole book about it - called “The Born Gay Hoax”

“I am 110% hetero”

Fess up. Is that you alone or with your wife’s KY Intense?

I’ve listened to like-minded arguments made about global warming, and it always ends with ‘no question about it.’

Again, science. Not books, conjecture, opinion - science.

There was a piece in the WSJ about how badly screwed up Psychiatry was. Last weekend, in fact.

The diagnoses are more and more vague, and the conditions all call for the same drugs anyway.

I found out first hand how little research on Type 1 Diabetes is really going on (about 5 doctors worldwide in active research on cause/cure).

I found out how little research is going on regarding brain tumors.

I don’t know how much active research into the cause/cures of homosexuality and pedophilia are, but this is the kind of information to which I’m referring.

“We don’t know what causes homosexuality.”

The cause is a lack of self-control. Both mental and physical.

It’s just wrong... and everybody knows it.

Is that the abstract of your thesis, or is there some research involved?

There was a day they believed leprosy was caused by the way you lived your life. I have lifelong friends who are gay, never acted on it, hate themselves for it, and can’t stop feeling ‘gay’, whatever gay is.

So, Doc, what’s your diagnosis, and how much of what would you say they should take to feel like tearing into a Hooter’s waitress?

Oh, and you are why people stay away from Christ, church, and Salvation. You don’t know what you are talking about.

If it makes you feel any better, with respect to homosexuality, neither do I.

Why? As far as I can tell by the news articles he voted conservatively on the social issues that the gayborg favors. He did this because he was representing a conservative district. So if he can defy the gayborg and vote as he did I see no reason for him to be toast.

Even a sinner can recognize his sin and vote against the sinful urges within his body and soul.

While homosexual acts are sins, at least this guy cast his vote on the matter based of Biblical morals.

Rather have that than a so-called Christian supporting abortion rather than “impsose his own morals on others.”

Agreed. But politicians always try. We all know they don’t let go easily.

I don't know about research into causes of homosexuality, but I do know a bit about diabetes and brain tumor research. I suggest you look again - there is a huge amount of research on diabetes and a large amount on brain tumors. You can see the recently added brain tumor trials (worldwide) here, and the diabetes trials listed by the NIH here.

I don’t know if you’re old enough to remember it, but I remember when Lupus was thought to be a psychiatric condition. Theories of disease change with more knowledge, as you’ve so correctly pointed out.

How is vote is not the measure of who you are. How you treat a wife and family is.

Ouch. So you’re telling me that if you didn’t have such stellar self-control, you’d be out there pulling an Ashburn?

Please tell me you realize that a man finding erotic stimulation from the waste elimination canal of another man is shockingly abnormal. It’s common sense - no PhD needed.
