You have a point I cannot argue with. From time to time, I wonder if we can ever elect a leader from either party who would see that our immigration laws are enforced and our southern border is TRULY secure. It seems not and so one wonders why.

Also, I must agree with you that Tea Parties, et al, would not have arisen unless there was a huge gap for them to fill. Politicians exhibit such a tone deafness and disconnect, the people must do what they can to get attention.

What would you consider qualifications to be president?

I mean, it’s not like previous job experience in the field is an option, unless someone is running for a second term.

Most people who run for president have never done so before either.

I do recall the criticism Reagan got when he ran for president and the mockery of his acting career that the media and left engaged in. It was the first time I ever heard of *Bedtime for Bonzo*.

My understanding is that Palin did a great job in executive position with Alaska. Is that not correct?

Funny quote I read recently that came from Walter Mondale in 1980:

"This country isn't ready yet for an actor who in his first movie lost the girl to Gabby Hayes".
LOL.

Yeah, it was that sort of thing.

Even when he was president, he was vilified. His approval ratings were not that great while he was in office.

Those of us who liked him were later vindicated when the very ones who condemned him so much later went on to say what a great president he was.

We could use another smaller government, lower taxes, increased military president like him. If we see it again, I fear it will be too little too late. Not unless there’s some serious turnover in Congress with some actual, true conservatives in office instead of RINOS.

Reagan was all that plus he had the ability to lead and inspire others. A whole generation of bright young conservatives gravitated to him.

I've seen some of the same qualities in Palin but you're right, no one can do it alone. 2010 is critical to get some people in Congress to help the cause. Without a big turnover this year, 2012 is problematical for any conservative running.

The left is relentless and ruthless. Nobody should have to face that alone.

Even Bush was looking drawn and tired towards the end of his second term. I don’t know how he did it, or how anyone could do it. Not to live under that kind of constant pressure and criticism.

Sarah Palin is also starting to take a beating from the Trey Greyson crowd on this thread.
