Amazons move to drop its Colorado associates so soon after Gov. Ritter signed a new law creating a so-called Amazon tax is regrettable but not shocking.
There were plenty of signals that repealing a tax exemption for online retailers would face legal challenges and possibly just such a move as Amazon launched today.
The Post editorial board was among critics who warned the new law looked awfully problematic for such little gain .
John Hickenlooper missed a golden opportunity in not weighing in on this tax.
Score one for McInnis. Suddenly he looks like the prescient one while Denvers pro-business mayor looks lost in thought.

Hickenritter will wait the end of the legislative session before commenting.
HickenRitter has adopted the fence strategy of appointed Senator Michael Bennet. Andrew Romanoff and the left are trying to smoke out Bennet. Colorado needs similar Democrat opposition to smoke out HickenRitter. I am happy that his fence sitting has bitten his butt already. HickenRitter is a dangerous Democrat, a private business background with a pro tax and environmental Utopian outlook. HickenRitter is just a typical rat with some charm.
Ritter= Socialist. Dopenlooper= Ritter Jr.
Is it Hickenritter or Hickenlooper.
With a name like that I’d shut up too.
Sounds like they both need to be in the PoopinScooper.
Ritter is on his way out. They really missed thing up and I hope enough people see what these crooks have done. I got charged an extra $100 to license a truck that was not running and I replaced the engine. It was not licensed for a year they came up with some phony fee that I call a fine. Ritter, Pokeenlooper, demorats, you do not have my vote. Gail Norton, are you lying also?
During this election cycle, he will be known as HickenRitter. If he loses, he will return to Hickenlooper (or perhaps Hickenloser).
Hickenritter : his new political name ( Alinsky’s rules )
or Hickenlooper : the name that he prefers
I hope the Virginia House is Delegates is watching this.
LMAO!
He's got some more tough questions to answer, like where does he stand on Ritter's order allowing state workers to unionize, or where does he stand on card check? How about the Democrats move, after eliminating all these business tax credits, to give enviros a slew of new credits despite a huge budget deficit???
We're waiting, Mr. Hickenritter . . . .
FSDIDK
Hickenlooper was too busy protecting the illegals in his midst. Creating a sanctuary city and hiring illegals in his restaurants.
Mayor of Denver, Hickenlooper
Governor of Colorado, Ritter
Both dims, er dems.
FSDIDK?
This is a huge thing for people like me.
One of the reasons I do all my buying online is to avoid the taxes that move purchases into my “I can’t afford this” column. I bought my tv online for this reason.
I buy a lot of stuff from Amazon, and this would kill a lot of that for me. And whether people agree with me or not, the fact is lots of people do the same.
I understand why Amazon is fighting this tooth and nail, as in “Sales tax kills the deal”.
Just after Ritter appointed Bennett, a friend was at lunch with Hickenlooper and the topic of Bennets politics came up. Hickenlooper said Bennet was a pretty independent, middle of the road kind of guy who could just as easily be a republican as a democrat. Just another liar, and some insight into where Hickenlooper falls on the political spectrum.
Wow. Bennet is third generation East Coast, establishment Democrat, from a family that has held senior positions in Democrat administrations.
Hickenlooper is apparently like many liberals, from the perspective of his echo chamber he thinks he and those like him are "middle of the road."
And an illegal with a criminal record.
That horrific murder put an end to looper’s hopes of running for Governor. Altho years have passed I doubt he will ever be a candidate.

Radio acronym.
I hope if Hickenlooper wins he has to deal with a Republican controlled legislature. Otherwise Colorado is doomed. We can’t survive much more of this idiocy.
And, who is the Republican opposing Hickenlooper? Where in the heck are the candidates?
Scott McInnis is the GOP front runner. If McInnis cannot be vocal today, who could think he would be passionate or vocal enough to win the governors race?
If Hickenlooper wins the governorship it will be because of three reasons. One, he was a poor candidate. Two, the Republican base stayed home. Three, he failed to win the independent voter.
I guess I could add, he may not have the balls to win. Democrats play hardball. Why Republicans still “play nice” is beyond me.
License fees increased. I don’t have the exact figure but I believe that one of mine went up by at least 1/3. The Democrats are using fees to get around TABOR.
Republicans are not innocent but still the best bet for returning to representative government. I hope people in CO do go to their caucus next week and are vocal in holding candidates feet to the fire to stop tax increases and future TABOR abuse.
I don’t know about you but every business owner I know is mad as hell. I don’t mean upset, I mean mad. I also believe this is going to get more intense over the summer as more people in CO realize what’s happening to them.
