All you ever post is “bad cop” stories.
I don’t like bad cops either, but why the obsession?
Honestly I think far too many cop apologist and cheerleaders have drowned out the truth about the rising level of police and judicial misconduct in this country.
It seems they are all to quick to turn a blind eye and dismiss all of these events as an isolated incident or blame it on the one bad apple syndrome.
Well Ive some painful news. Accept it, dont accept it, but in the end its the truth...
Weve been blaming the one bad apple for decades now and the official bad apple count has far exceeded the acceptable bad apple to bushel basket ratio long years ago. The argument no longer holds water when you begin to look at the sheer number and the magnitude of news stories in print and TV media today of misconduct and crimes committed by our police on a daily basis.
And these are just the incidents that are reported in the media. Incidents from departments that are large enough to warrant media scrutiny. Not every department issues a press release each time an officer is suspended or fired. An internal investigation is initiated or a complaint of criminal behavior is received.
I am interested in knowing why you state there is a rising level of police misconduct in this country.
Is that anecdotal or do you have evidence to compare it to, say, another decade?
Could you possibly also include in your postings positive stories of policemen? Must you only post negative stories?
Consider the analogy of soldiers. I know there are bad soldiers. As a matter of fact, if I was a bloodthirsty sociopath, I’d be tempted to try the military as a job for “cover.” I don’t mind stories being posted about bad behavior by our soldiers. But that is not all I want to see. Because I believe most of our soldiers are really going through a lot of hardship and putting their lives on the line for our country.
Would you post only “bad soldier” stories?
I think FR would take you a lot more seriously if you posted ALL the interesting cop stories, not just the bad cop stories.
Avoid the threads if you don’t want to read about LEO misconduct.
Fair point, but one thing I've noticed just in my internet wanderings is lack of those stories. And before you try to counter with media biased, I say hold up!
Because, when cops do something heroic it not only is news, its usually BIG news. The cop in LA the other day who risked his life to use his patrol car to stop a lady who's Toyota had gone into warp speed mode. It was not only front page but all over FOX and CNN. SO they get covered. But does every criminal allegation to include murder or rape by a cop get CNN or FOX Prime time coverage?
Nope...
Misconduct is usually regulated to the local newspaper or TV station, unless its something on a Rodney King grand scale.
Example... in NYC 5 NYPD cops were recently busted for taking part in an armed robbery of a perfume warehouse that netted them over 1 MILLION DOLLARS, pretty big... didn't see that one live on FOX.
My point, good cop news gets coverage, but as I already said, the bad cop news events have overtaken the good cop news events not just by a little but alot. Something is way wrong with our law enforcement and our judicial system today.
Yes, I could avoid the threads, but I wanted to comment on the fact that there seem to be several police misconduct threads posted a day by MagicalMischief. I wanted to know why this is his agenda.
The agenda is pointing out articles about corrupt LEO's. Isn't it obvious?
Thanks for posting the threads and articles.
Bad boy. It sounds like there may be an audit trail.
Bad boy. It sounds like there may be an audit trail.
Your welcome!
The agenda seems like an assault on police in general.
Just like if he only posted stories about corrupt soldiers. Or corrupt teachers. Or corrupt priests.
