RAMALLAH, West Bank – Vice President Joe Biden said Wednesday the Palestinians deserve a "viable" independent state with contiguous territory, seeking to reassure them of U.S. support after Israel announced plans to expand a Jewish neighborhood in disputed east Jerusalem.
The Israeli move has overshadowed Biden's visit, meant to promote a new round of U.S.-led negotiations, and drawn Palestinian accusations that Israel is not serious about peace. Israel apologized for embarrassing Biden with the timing of its announcement, but made clear it has no intention of reversing its plan.
Capping a day of meetings with Palestinian leaders, Biden told his hosts that the U.S. is committed to brokering a final peace deal — something that has eluded U.S. leaders for decades.
"The United States pledges to play an active as well as a sustainable role in these talks," Biden said. He stressed the Palestinians deserve an independent state that is "viable and contiguous," meaning the territory should not be broken up by Israeli settlement enclaves.

Dear Mr. Biden, people deserve the state that they create. States are not gifts from the gods, but merely constructs of men. If the men are violent and envious, the results will be noticeably chaotic, if the men are non-violent, grateful, and forgiving, then the results will be nice. People create their own heaven or hell based on their behavior. I know this might be beyond your pay-grade, just sayin.

There are actually differences between barbarians and savages. For instances, there is no way in hell that Attila or Chengis Khan ever would have used Hun or Mongol women and kids as human shields. “Palestinians” are basically savages; they’d be lucky to work their way up the ladder to barbarism in four centuries starting from now.

Jordan
Syria
Lebanon
Saudi Arabia

The West Bank belongs to Israel according to international law.

I may be misinformed, but I thought Palestinians were nomads in the past and didn’t have a country. Maybe Saudi or some other sympathizing country could give them a piece of their country and leave little Israel alone.

Bedouins are a separate ethnic group. ‘Palestinians’ are overwhelmingly descended from Egyptians, Turks, Syrians, etc, who were lured to the Land of Israel when Jews began developing it about 150 years ago. There were small native Arab populations just as there were small native Jewish populations.
